Texas Semen

Thats what I was thinking but there are a few others that are doing pretty well also.

Check out Will and Jimmy Pressley's Big Black. I was down there this summer and was extremely impressed with there yearlings and two year olds.

I've been breeding Texas genetics up north in part of my herd for the past 4 years, and I certainly agree with Ben and Richie on Gladiator.

Robert Williams Bambi line is also very impressive! My 2 best yearlings this year are out of Bambi Yardstick and Texas Tea's mom.

Of course, I think Stickers is a pretty awesome producer as well. :)

All those are great choices! I really like them all and hope to try them soon.

Our only experience is with Maxbo 727 (Owned by Cougar Ridge and Sullivan Whitetails) which is Maxbo bred to a 727 doe. So I guess that makes him 50% Texas and our offspring 25% Texas. But he has really done well for us. We had 4 big yearlings this year from him and of course The Chosen One and Sneakers 727 (2 year olds). Other breeders are doing well with him also.

Here are pics in order of:

First 4 all yearlings:

Cornerstone (Maxbo 727/Jeckyl/BuckyJr/Poncho)

Blue 68 (Maxbo 727/Willy/Bucky)

Blue 60 (Maxbo 727/Waylon/HighRoller)

Blue 61 (Maxbo 727/Waylon/HighRoller)

2 year olds:

And then The Chosen One (Maxbo 727/HighRoller)

and Sneakers 727 (Maxbo 727/PA Geronimo)

All great looking deer Sam.........really like corner stone.....lots of character......but I would be happy to have anyone of them on my farm!

Gladiator and Dreambuck would be my 1st and 2nd choice. As far as upcoming producing sires Gladiators Hammer, Gladiators Express, and Moab with being gladiator sons and grandsons. Crossed up 50% or less would be Maxbo 727, MaxDream, and soon to be Easy Does It.

Thanks guys! We are about to announce our Gladiator contest to promote those breeders who have produced great Gladiator offspring. Not only do we want to promote all of our customers, but raise better awareness in the industry as to how prolific of a buck he truly is. I'm confident when we show the full list of offspring people will realize that not only is he the best producer in Texas, but he continues to out produce himself year after year.

Look at MartY Berry's Fran. The deer does not look impressive but he has thrown some monster pure texas deer. His offspring have won best 2 year typical, 2year old nontypical, best 3 year old, best 4 year old at the TDA convention. THey also have a buck that won the best typical and nontypical (same deer, berrylicious) at the TDA convention. I am biased, i have only been breeding with their line of deer. Again these are 100 percent pure south texas deer.

I picked up a pamplet at the 2010 NADEFA confrance that had some of Frans offspring and wow did he produce. As far as Berrylicous or however you spell it he was one of the nicest bucks at that place. He had a big typical frame with long tines. I measured his g2s myself and they were 17 1/2 inches. On top of that huge typical frame he had stickers on every tine but you could still see his typical frame under it all. Besides Gladiator he is one of my favorite Texas bucks.

Does anyone have any pictures they could post of this buck. Besides being at nadefa that year I have never seen this buck anywere up north and would really like to see how he looks now.

We have over a dozen does out of Gladiator and there are a ton of really good sons out of him, we have some. There is an up and coming son that has, we believe, the strongest Gladiator enhanced genetics out there. I don't own him, I wish, but Eslabon Ranch and some of the smartest breeders in Texas are going to use him. They call him Overdrive. His mom was Maxbo 727s mom and she has some of the best breeding in Texas. She is a proven producer. The only 2 sons she has produced are huge. I haven't had the chance to see any of Overdrive's sons, the oldest can't be older than 2. Check his pedigree on DNA Solutions #36165. I don't make a dime off him just passing on a little good info. www.eslabonranch.com
