Walk's Farm

There are some i am missing im sure but these folks have made a positive impact on my farm and my life!! For their help i thank them all!!!!

this past October i called 5 HIGHLY recommended places to get a bred doe to add to our genetics...only ONE called me back and that was John Erwin Stolzfus with Rocky ridge whitetails so we bought a bred doe from him! i will not deal with the other 4 in the future

Rod and Dianne Miller have been a great help to our farm and we purchased a yearling/breeder buckfrom them this past October...they are also just a phone call away

I bought my first deer a few year's back from Last Chance Ranch here in IL owned by Doug Marsh he is a good guy. I have one of Don Higgin's doe's, Don is as honest as they come. I have some animal's from Walk brother's and so do a couple of my friend's here and I have used semen from some of there sire's they treat me right on all of there item's. Steve Thayer has been a big help getting me lined out with some good feed info. Virgil Lipinski for sending me two straw's of Low Rider semen free for a guess the score contest he had. Sam James took time to show me his farm when he had other thing's he neded to be doing at the time. And last but not least if not for Dan Painer selling me dart's when I ran out I would have been in a real jam last year at a.i. time. I would recomend any of the farm's mentioned above.

And I would also have to thank Scott Follett at Apple Creek for taking the time to let several of us come up to his farm to learn about a.i. and WTE for some good deal's on there auction.

We have bought many deer over the past couple years and I havent found anyone better to deal with than Rod and Dianne Miller. They stand behind what they sell and are there for you at all times. They have one of the most consistant herds in the business. Anyone who has dealt with them before knows what Im talking about.

AND... Jacocb Glick is a good guy to work with. He just sold me the mother to his BIGGEST yearling on his farm this year!We talked for a long time and will do more business with him in the future.

My list is not real long the first person i bought deer from jipped me. Then the first guy i sold shooters to jipped me. Then I learned to watch who and how to deal with people. Then I met Rod and Diane Miller they are great people and even greater to deal with very helpful. I most say Scott Follet is a very giving and helpfull person as well just don't let him give you any tours of his swamp!!! Also Todd Morgan and the Whittail exchange staff are great people to deal with as well. All Dennis Duffy to.

I'm thinking Todd Hoeffel is a pretty awesome guy! Haha just kidding....Ben Waldbeaser and Deb from BB Genetics are hands down #1 in honesty, quality and overall helpfulness.

We've also have had good dealings with Ben and Deb at BB Genetics. Good people. I would also mention Lavern and Phillip Sclabaugh at Pin Oak farm and Don Higgins whos word is gold. Sam James has always been fair with my dealings also. Rick

You know I kept looking at the title of this thread...and looking at it and knew there was someone I was missing......I am actually embarrassed that He was not on my first list at the number one spot.......but I know He is number one on my list always......and that is God....he is always there for me.....always loves me....never fails me....always forgives me even though I don't deserve it......his love is unconditional.......and he continues to Bless me over and over again....and as I said before...I surely don't deserve it........HE BY FAR IS NUMBER ONE ON MY LIST......WITHOUT HIM NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!!!

I have met alot of good people in this industry like the Walk family,Larry and Kelly Pittenger,George Hazard,Henry Martin and some others that I can't remember but Josh Newton from Red Ridge Whitetails has been by far the best thing that happened to our farm. If it wasn't for his help, knowledge and honesty I wouldn't even be in the deer business.

I have a short list but I would have to go with.

Dennis Duffy

Chuck Hutchinson

Rod & Diana Miller

I also have a short list of people I will not be dealing with as far as selling shooters too, because I am still trying to get payment on a buck I sold the second week of oct. You can contact me if you would like that list.

My list is also short.

Steve Porter

Ron & Mary Pierce

both have helped me so much when starting my farm.

Reed Sander

Lost River Whitetails

My list would start with anyone with the last name Walk . . . Russ Sr., Russ Jr., Ryan, and Heath . . . their help, support, advice, and generosity are the only reason we have any deer . . . and if you need a great taxidermist, call Buddy Walk (God's Country Taxidermy - (814) 686-0342). Also, Jeff Stine from Centre Line Whitetails has been extremely helpful and generous. Scott Follett and Virgil Lipinski were very helpful in offering advice before we got our first deer, and Robbie Peterson was extremely helpful and provided excellent advice for bottle-feeding our first doe fawn. We have been very blessed by the relationships we have formed in this industry, and many of you have been very helpful without even knowing it, because of your posts on this sight! Thank you all . . . God Bless!

Amen to that Dennis! Most of the individuals I have met in the deer business have a strong relationship with God which shows in their characters. As you said it "without Him nothing else matters"

I will list a couple of guys that will treat you right. In this industry its not about being around till the money exchange is complete and then your on your own! Like a golf swing, its the ( follow through ) that determines the consistency. That's why my first nomination is MARK SIPES!! The quality of a man's word, honest and integrity as well as animal quality is definitely the most sought after , therefore my second nomination goes to NATHAN BLOSSER!! There is a ton more as deer farmers are the salt of the earth! I would like to also announce that the new DEER CREEK WHITETAILS is only owned and operated by myself JASON SAVAGE- I hope to see y'all real soon on the national market

and I would hope that I can earn your trust in the future!!

There would be way too many good and very honest people to put on a list without forgetting so many but it’s been an absolute joy to be a part of such a great business and true dreams come true for our family. Thanks so much for all of you that have been a pleasure to work with and we look forward to many years of business with you in the future.

Also, I know it’s early but anybody that is looking to sell high end shooters for this up and coming season feel free to contact me at 814-330-6861 or [email protected] as we will be looking for several 300-400+ bucks for fall.

Thanks in advance! Russ Jr :)
