This should get a lot of opinions....If you could build the "Perfect Production Doe"  for the best return on your investment today what would  her pedigree be and then......Who do you breed her with??

I know that paper does not insure results but it sure will improve your chances.

I would do Banjo/Express/2Wide/Bucky/Bucky Jr/O-105 This doe will have 30" Wide 4X  big open frame and good tine length. It would also be one of a kind!!!

Coldspring  that is Real Close to what I was thinking.  I had Shadow in place of Danger and bred to Express or Gladiator XL . Wouldn't that be a Good Problem to have??!!  ;)   You could argue that Cardiac Kid should be in there somewhere  for the current marketing strategies.  Just thought this would be a good Winter Topic and maybe a bit of a Barometer for breeding decisions.

Well ours would look like this Express/Big D/Hardcore/Highroller bred to Gladiator XL. Now our foundation do is the Big D/Hardcore/Highroller doe the Highroller doe in our girls line is triple Sundance. The next to breedings with Express and Gladiator XL will also add to our foundation! Somewhere in the mix I think we will have to add Rolex in with those girl's and also shadow.... I guess I could just keep going lol! Good topic for sure!

well,, the perfect doe would have 2 buck fawns, one doe fawn, each year, raise them herself without any health issues to deal with. the bucks would score 300+ with 30+ inch beams and 30+ IS. it wouldn't matter to me who her daddy was! that being said i am looking forward to fawning this spring. my possibilities, sundragon x cardiac kid, sundragon x stone cold, monarch x 20/28,sundowner x shadow, 2 wide x geronimo.i hope to be bottle feeding lots of fawns! tom l

All good choices Ezra & Megan.  Interesting that you are bringing Shadow & Rolex back in by breeding as to where I would be starting with them.  Great Concept!       Tom....If we had deer that took care of themselves you might eliminate some stress on the farmer but you would taking away all the Enjoyment that we have as farmers.   Having the knowledge to make them well when they are sick.   Bottle feeding....Having them go through your pockets looking for treats.  Having them run off with your tools while you are working in their pens.  Watching them play in their first snow. Like you and many other Farmers............Our deer are Our Family & Our Kids.
