Louisiana
wow  lots of people on tonite but no one sayiny anything.   things must be good.  down in Louisiana we just had about 6 inches of rain today.  good thing deer know how to swim.  times like this I should be raising ducks

Its been nice up here in ohio the last few days but looks like its going to rain/snow for about the next 36 hours up here. Not quite 6 inches but enough to make my pens quite damp.

And here in Montana we have 40 to 65 degree days and dry.   Think it will reach 70 on Friday.   Least we have been able to make more sheds and put in cover for birthing of fawns.  Very weird year but I like it.

What a difference a year makes. We are averaging 10 degrees and have had more snow than any of the last 12 years. Spring can't come soon enough for me. We start birthing in mid April with our sheep but I expect weather will be much better then.

I'm kind of finding the weather in Pa funny for a Montana guy. I realize that weather is bad as the ice factor comes into play. The county next to us got 5 feet of snow. We were 20 below last night and today the Chinook came in and we were at 50 degrees. We had six inches at least of snow but now it is all gone and all we have is water running everywhere.
A week ago it snowed a foot and we had 10 below temps but we still had school. I just find it funny how different we are from the East.
When a Montana family goes to visit a friend he might live 400 miles away and we will still make it home that night. We find trips like that just a hop skip and a jump for us. But we don't have the traffic and we can go 80 MPH but in most cases we do that on crap roads. Just thought it was interesting how the East and West look at things and respond.

That's funny Jack, my girlfriend is from Miles City Mt and she says the same thing as you! I complain about the roads here in Mn in the winter but she says at least they plow them here. In Montana they don't bother to plow most of the roads out of town! Your right on how different parts of the country are! Hope your able to get your sheds done.

Kurt,
We were able to build six sheds by this time last year. Not so much this year as we have 25 inches of frost here so no posts in the ground till April or so.
We just finished up the days work with a navel fix on a cat and she is in recovery right now so I'd better check on her.
