We feel we have been really blessed with a great typical framed buck at the farm. I've put pictures of The Natural, a 3 year old, on here several times this summer.
We are contemplating whether or not to draw semen on him this fall. We do not AI any does at the farm, so the semen would be for sale, or I guess serve as an insurance policy to have if something were to happen to him. He is the perfect sire for us in trying to raise big typical shooters.
From a downside, we'd hate to risk darting him to draw semen if nobody would buy it. We do not know what doe he is out of, chances are that he is out of a Max granddaughter, but we will never know since his mother was sold over the last couple years. His sire is Slapshot, a High Roller son that we had a few years back. We do have a complete pedigree on Slapshot.
Guess I am opinion shopping. Any thoughts and advice, good, bad, or indifferent are greatly appreciated.
Also, any guesses on what you think he scores and his spread?
Thanks,
