I have a couple of does that have lost weight due to nursing fawns and I would like to add rice bran to their feed to promote weight gain. Anyone have a suggestion as to a product they will consume. I have tried a product from Manna Pro Max-E-Glo Meal in which our Breeder Buck and a few does will eat but not the does which need the weight gain. I have been feeding 5lbs of rice bran to 50lbs of feed is this correct or is their a better ratio.
You might try golden nuggets by record rack, it seems that most deer consume it well, it is 12% fat, I have seen people feed as high as 1/2 to 3/4 pound per head per day.
I use the Maxi Glow also, my does love it. I top dress their feed with about 1 cup. I have one older doe that I hand feed some to just to make sure she gets some. Because the other gluttons get it eaten before she gets to the feeder. They follow me around trying to get some from my container for her.

I currently use Golden Nuggets in my feed on a daily bases and is about 15% of my total mix. The deer love it, nice fat and mineral content, lets not forget 13% protein.
We currently use Golden Deer Nuggets. Our mix is about 25% right now. When I open the bin for the feed my ***** just stand there. When I open the bin for the nuggets they are trying to push me out of the way. They simply can't resist it.
You are looking between $13 and $15 a bag. and they are 40lb bags. You can mix this up to 25%. We increase in mid september to condition Does for breeding. Again can not say enough about it.
