But, before I say anything else, let me also explain that I am a new, "Deer mother," and am only using it because the local goat dairy refuses to sell any more of it's milk (citing that the cheese sells for so much, they can't justify selling me 2 gallons a month).

I'm dealing with a slight case of scours (mucous-y, a little runny, but not all the time) since I switched our 2.5 week-old baby buck to Unimilk, but he seems to be tolerating well coming straight off pure goat milk. He was also almost 2 weeks old when I got him, and I believe he was probably 4 days old, or so, before his mother was killed by a car.

It took 2-3 full days of feedings (every 4 hours) before it was straight Unimilk, though - I was concerned more about him accepting it as a substitute, but he went right along with the plan.

I, too, am curious to see what the veterans here have to say on the matter, though. :)

Well, I give up on the milk replacer - I was never a fan of it when I raised calves, anyway.

Found an organic market and put him back on goat's milk and yogurt.

Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Unimilk didn't foul him up too badly...
