Update on Rick Saatela

I ran down to Houston yesterday and saw my buddy Rick at MD Anderson hospital. I think he was really glad to see a friendly face, even mine. I am happy to report that while I ws there Rick stood up, took several steps and even sat up for a short time. I have to say that I am really impressed with his strength and endurance through all of this, he is really amazing. While he was standing he gave me a big smile and took a practice cast just to make sure..If all goes well Rick and Mary Jo are hoping to go home late next week. Please keep the prayers coming he has a lot of healing to do.

Well if everything stays on track, Rick will be released from the hospital tonight !!!

Praise the Lord, he and his Mom have been through so much the last several weeks. The plan is to stay in a room connected to the hospital to make sure all is well and then on Sat. morning get on that plane and back home. Mike and Rick's sister are headed to TX. to help get him back to WI. but they are very excited to say the least. Rick and the whole family are so grateful for the support and prayers that have helped get them this far, now lets get him home and healed so he can get back to the outdoors and what he loves to do.

Hey Perry,

I have stayed in contact with Rick since he left for MD Anderson. He has battle through some very difficult times, but his faith is strong, and so is the faith of his friends (like you).

Having friends that love you unconditionally and keep you in their prayer, helps you cope with what sometimes seems impossible! God bless you!
