Hey guys....can someone tell the newbie why pretty much all pics of bucks are when they are in velvet? I hardly ever see any pics in hard antler. Is it because most cut them off before hard antler? Probably a stupid question....but I'm curious to hear the answers

;)It's pretty simple Derek, They look bigger and more appealing to most in velvet and that first impression to sell you something is VERY important!

Lol!! I thought that might be it. Didn't want to insult anybody by saying that! We all know that size DOES really matter though. Lol. I'm hoping to get some good genetics in my herd in the near future, but for now I'm at 2 bucks, 5 does and 7 fawns....4 of which are bucks. I'm really excited to see how they turn out, as my does were bred with a really nice 2 yr old typical main frame 10 who scores roughly 180". I know that seems small on here...but it's huge where I live/started my whitetail farm. Do those big boys with all the junk have trouble peeling their velvet? Thanks for the reply!

Ps. When I say good genetics, I mean upgraded genetics....my herd does come from good lines and the guy I got them from.....muskoka whitetails is a great guy who knows his stuff!
