Hi everyone Im currently using richie fountains in my pen and I do like them and they never freeze up, but they are hard to keep clean. Wondering what you all use and what possibly works better to keep clean and good in the extreme cold in mn

Has anyone ever tried hog waterers. The have no bowl, only a nipple. When they touch the nipple water come out. I plan to test them in one pen.

Tough to beat the Nelson brand. Other than an occasional heating element or thermostat, they are great!

Hi my name is Ryan w/R&J Whitetails up in ND. I see you are looking for some Waterers that you don't need to clean. I sell Jug Waterers just for that reason. You hardly every have to clean them, maybe 1-2times a year. I have no problems with mine even if the -40 temps we had this winter. I currently run 3 on my deer farm and have been supper happy with them. I use to have cobette Waterers and that's all I did was clean the damn things. The reason you have to clean them so much is because there is so much water exposed to the sunlight which creates bacteria to form giving you that green slime to clean out every week. If you want to talk Waterers let me know. I can have them shipped to you the next day after ordering. Thanks hope to hear from you

They look very similar to the cobette waterer that fills with slime. They also have a flap the animal would have to push down in order if them to drink. I don't think the deer are going to push that big flap. There is no moving parts on the Jug waterer for the animal to push or ware out/rust. The jug Waterers are used by lots of deer farmers for several reasons. They are dependable, they don't freeze up, they keep the water cool in the summer, and they are algae free! What more would you want in a waterer. Buy one and give it a try and I'll bet you will be buying more.
