week old fawn worrying me

got Louella the other night.. prob about a week old, still wobbly..was eat up with ant bites, but all seems to be healing well. no fever, no infections, or anything. she refuses a bottle period. i added some strawberry quick (a trick i learned with fussy ones) and get her to take a few ounces at atime maybe twice a day.. my concern is that she is NOT hungry, not aggressive to eat at all. now she does drink water from a bowl, (i tried the milk that way too, but no go) and will nibble on some pellets and loves some Special K cereal with strawberries..she just seems to be getting depressed versus being inquisitive like the others were. ANY suggestions? Im thinking some B12 once a day for a few days

I would continue to give her whatever she wants to eat to keep her strength up. Have you given her any probiotics? That will help stimulate her appetite. What about pooping? Have you stimulated her? maybe she is constipated.

Have you offered her any greens? Leaves or grass will promote an appetite.

The Vitamin B will do her some good. B12 or Complex either one.

ive stimulated, but nothing.. wasnt sure if from the ant bites back there had her swollen (and tail fur missing) or if not getting enuf to put out.. probiotics yes. gave her a good dose of gel gonna try a few more things today

ok, B12 shot, she likes orange koolaid out of a bowl, ate some mixed greens (small handful organic salad wild mix), a few bites of smashed banana and went back to sleep im thinking maybe if i give her what she wants when she will eat it, get her built up, then i can worry about getting better "normal" stuff in her afterwards...it worked with my kids, but i am open for ideas

You have to force feed the goat milk carefully. She will take off, of course. Did you give her any Colostrom? I would.

she just fights like the dickens with any milk but nibbling on calf manna and some small record rack apple flavor....she will drink koolaid and water out of the bowl but will not do any kind of milk lordy this deer is just like my daughter was......

cant hold her head up this morning, like she just gave up, dont know what else to try no output at all now, my fawns are rescues, so i guess sometimes maybe nature takes it course and momma leaves them for a reason?

she was very young... makes me very sad. Sorry you have to go through this. You should figure out how to feed them with a tube next time, I don't think that it's rocket science... hug.

well, to begin with, she was eating wonderfully from a bowl, then BAM, like overnite down and gone.. I really feel there was something wrong inside.. the bowels have us wondering because her output wasnt like it should have been, and she was getting enuf input for some good output........but thank you !

IF after a couple of days and her condition getting worse. The best suggestion I can give you is to bring her to the veterinarian. I'm sure that people many deer farmer-owners here will agree with me. I know you are totally stressed and the recommendation I can give to you is to play hay day computer download and empires and allies gameplay. These games really help to relax every time I have a problem with my farm animals.
