What is the funniest thing your deer have done?

just to keep it light and fun :)

my little one (aka BaBa baby) now goes into the bathroom and unrolls the toilet paper, just like the kittens and kids did.. Especially if I am in there doing my hair and makeup and not giving him my undivided attention ! He also runs back and forth when i blow his face with the hair dryer.....

will have to get pics

alrighty then....i guess there ar NO humorous stories out there besides mine?

daughter just called, was scratching the little guys head where his little nubs are gonna grow, said his leg started thumping like the dogs do when u scratch them just right !

I like to watch the button bucks "sparring". They think they're the big dogs on the place sometimes! They get pretty serious.

i am still laughing at the marshmallows being shot at them thru the PVC pipe.......reminds me of spitballs in grammar school....lol hahahaa

oh great ! I have a large in ground Koi/Goldfish pond with plants. hahahaa

i LOVE the pic of your girl getting water from the refrigerator door.

yeah i am working on getting mine out !! so far it isnt working, but next week his new pen will be ready i am sure to have the camera for this fun, and hes only 2 months old

Hi all! Well, glad to see you like my refrigerator pic! That is my big girl Faline. Of course - she has taught her sister Nina how to work it too! Sometimes they push each other out of the way to get ice/water. They LOVE crushed ice :)

I have many funny stories but this one I think takes the cake! It was sooooo not funny at the time, but since everything turned out ok - it's funny looking back! As we all know, my girls spent most of their time in the house. One night when Faline was about 2yrs old - she was sleeping in the kitchen on her doggy bed. I left my flannel robe in the kitchen laying over the chair. Well, about 3am Miss Nosey decided she would check it out! She got her head stuck all the way up one of the arms of the robe. I was woken out of a dead sleep to MAJOR RACKET!! Scared me to death! I jumped up ran in the kitchen to find Faline running into walls, cabinets, furniture, etc.. with the robe over her head! I yelled her name, but bless her heart - she was freaking out - could not see - didn't know where to go. She tripped over the robe and fell - she was so worn out, panting - I started talking to her - telling her it was ok. She was still enough for me to pull the robe off her head. She had a bloody nose and walked around like she had been beatin up for a couple of days - but everything else was ok. I was shaking sooooooo bad, I thought she was going to kill herself. I will NEVER forget that! Like I said since it ended ok, it's funny looking back, but SO NOT funny at the time :)

Hope everyone and their deer family are doing great!

Gail

I know. It amazes me how they notice even small changes. If I move something in the house, hang a new picture, etc....they notice as soon as they walk in the house. They check it out, bob the head up & down, ears perked, until they realize....it's ok. Sometimes I have to walk over to the object and touch it and tell them it's ok - then they are like...ok, it's cool :) Very perceptive! Is Bella (love that name for a deer!) the beauty in your profile pic? She reminds me so much of my Faline - she is beautiful! I looked as some of your pics - I wish we had a pond! My property is nothing but hills/rock formations - very wooded!! My husband wants a pool and I'm like...uh....where are we going to put it!?

we have a pool in ground and thank God it is enclosed with an 8 ft chain link fence....my guy is waaaaaaaaay too nosy for his own good...lol

he has to check out every walmart bag that comes in the house.......looking for gummies ! lol

LOL - that's so funny! My girls stick their noses in the Walmart bags too!! Nina can sniff out bread quick!! Faline looks for the Tostitos chips....she loves them!! I'm going to have to try the gummies treats - I'm pretty sure that will be a hit.

i do the Welchs 100% fruit ones. they are at walmart by the granola bars in little single serving size bags.......we share them ! lol

I have a buck fawn that loves to do battle with a five gallon bucket, it seems like everytime i set one down he just wants a fight. He will stand on his back legs and kick at it with his front legs, then when he tips it over he head butts it. Really funny to see in person.

That's sweet!! This morning I had a chipmunk run down the hill at top speed and it ran right under Nina's legs! It was funny - she didn't know what to do - it ran so fast her head went in all directions! Wish I had it on video. That's one thing with raising deer - you almost need to carry a video camera at all times - random, funny things just seem to happen all the time! I know what you mean about the pictures......I have several photo albums devoted to the girls!! I know people think I'm crazy, but really, I LOVE my babies as though I birthed them! When Faline was a fawn I DID NOT sleep through the night for the first 3/4 months. My husband can testify, I would wake up every 3 hours to check on her....even though she was in a dog crate RIGHT next to me....sound asleep. I would talk & walk in my sleep - it ALL had to do with Faline! It got better when Nina came along - she actually slept with us for her first couple of months! Oh gosh, it makes my heart flutter just thinking about those days.....so precious.....they grow soooo fast!

It's also funny to watch my girls play with the dogs. The girls pounce, jump, and sometimes fall down when they kick their back legs too high! Makes me nervous sometimes because I don't want them to break a leg! It's funny though, the dogs just duck & run - but they always come back for more! Oh, and my girls also like to fight with trees and the water sprinkler! That's a real treat to watch!! They too have had a few battles with buckets!

Gotta LOVE them!

The pic I posted is of Nina in our bed...ready to go nite-nite!

HE'S TOO CUTE!! I could kiss him all over his precious face!! I never tried the blow-dryer, but when Nina was a baby she used to love to go into the bathroom while I was taking a bath - and drink the bath water. They like warm water. I would splash her little face - she would run - then come right back. :)

well we had a big fish fry with lots of friends over watching the ballgame....my guy got a lemon wedge off my plate and ate it....funniest looks on his face, but he never quit eating it till i finally took it away !

Your Bella is SOO BEAUTIFUL! I am so glad you bought her because it sounds like she is in a good home with LOTS of love!! Look at her lil spots! Don't you just love their spots??!!That sweatshirt is awesome too! What part of Ohio do you live in?

LOL, that's so funny - my parents call my girls their grand-deer. My mom and dad live in Cleveland and every time they come to visit they bring fresh treats for the girls. I'm always sending pics and videos to my mom and whenever the girls do something that makes me laugh or cry I have to call her and share the story. For example; EVERY day I have to tell the girls I love them - sometimes up to 20 times a day (no lie, lol). Well, the other night I was getting ready to go to bed and saw Faline standing on the deck in front of the window looking at me. I walked into the other room for a second before going out to kiss the girls goodnight and tell them I love them. I guess Faline thought I was going to bed and she started walking away. I opened the door and said, Faline come kiss mommy goodnight. She stopped, turned her "cheek" up and sideways, I leaned down and kissed her, immediately after she started walking away. I thought, oh my gosh!! She understood me!! I called my mom to tell her what had happend....I was so proud, I even shed a few tears :) My husband thought I was nuts! LOL! I CAN'T HELP IT!!

I really cannot imagine my life without my babies......I think about them 24/7. I don't even like to go on vacation because I don't want to leave them. My parents, husband, and I went to Disney 3 1/2 years ago, Faline was 1yrs old. I cried on the way to the airport, on the airplane, and the first 2 days I was there, lol. My mom kept saying, "are you sure you want to go?" Of course I didn't, but I could not tell her that, I didn't want to spoil the trip! After a couple of days, and hundreds of calls to the sitter, I finally relaxed.......a little, lol! My oh my......but I wouldn't have my life any other way!

Give your Bella a hug for me :)

I know what you mean :) They do have a way of making us smile don't they?!

I live in Southern Ohio. I have often thought about moving closer to Cleveland to be near my parents. We will see what the future holds! Of course my babies will go with me!

Can't wait to see more pics of Bella!
