Wondering what size trailers do you all have and use for translating shooters/deer? How many do you all fit in there for a long drive? Thanks for the info guys.

OK, just kidding. Mine is a 12' bumper trailer, wish it was bigger, though. I've hauled 10+open does without trouble, but 4 hard-antler bucks is all I can do at once.

I have a 26 foot gooseneck with a tappered nose for air flow and a torsion bar suspension. Pulls and rides very nice. I had it custom built by S & S Duraline Trailers in Elma Iowa. Phone is 641-393-2696. I have 5 five foot compartments, and also can divide them in half with a panel [that is removable] to make 10 single stalls to haul 10 hard horn bucks at a time. If I use the five stalls I can haul 20 - 25 adult deer at a time. It is built heavy enough to also haul cattle, it makes it worth something when you want to sell it. It is a steel trailer, so they are a lot cheaper to buy. It also has tracks to put peg board in to blind the sides for deer, they can be slid out when you haul cattle or horses. They sell for between 10-11,000 new. We added rubber mats to the floor for around $350.

We bought a 16' X 7' wide horse trailer, bumper pull, and had a friend put in doors so that we can haul 5 antlered bucks in seperate compartments. The front 2 compartments run front to back with a door between them so that we can remove the 2 front bucks through the side door. The other 3 compartments run side to side. All doors and walls are removeable so that we can haul does in a single compartment. We also added roof vents. We have hauled both bucks and does on 16+ hour trips. The steel trailer hauls beautifully... gas station to gas station.

EXACTLY what I was/am looking for. THANKS for the info!!! I will definitely give them a call soon. Price seems reasonable for new and potentially higher resale value. What truck are you hauling her with and what kind of mileage you getting approx.?

@Stevel, 16 hours+ no problems? Great info I was looking for also. Trying to find/plan a good setup with all things in mind.

We use a 16' Bruton gooseneck game trailer. It has a nonmovable center divider with a total of 6 seperate compartments. I have hauled as many as 28 doe for 7 hours. If you put hay or straw down on the rubber mats the deer will lay down and not "look for a way out". We have even put wild deer in the trailer that were being TTT to another ranch and we learned that if you put down hay they will just lay down vs. just rubber mats they are ready to explode. With hay you literally have to drag the deer off the trailer.

Hay it is! That's great info. 28 does, WOW.....I'm shocked wild deer remained calm in the trailer as well.

Whitetails: We pull our 26 footer with a F350 Ford disel dually 4 door. We got 10.8 mpg going to Pa. and back. We have had deer in for 48 hours with no problems. We put ice in rubber tubs with hay in corner. Deer don't want to get out of the trailer their so comfortable. You'll have to adjust the number of deer with the time you figure they will be in the trailer. On short hauls 2-4 hours, 20-25 is no problem. If you go over 24 hours, you should haul 10-15. We also use wood shavings on top of the mats to keep it dry.
