Where to get a blowgun?

I bought a nice gun for darting my deer but then after attending one of those seminars on darting wildlife decided I'd probably never use it. It still sits in the case unused after 4 or 5 years. Now I'm looking for a blow gun as I have my deer corralled for holding and treatment and the gun would be too powerful. Only problem is, I forgot where to get one!

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Especially any suggestions based on experience with a particular blowgun or company you have already used.

Hey you copper tube guys...what kind of darts do you put through your copper, what is your range, how do you aim them, and how accurate are you?

NY doe, where in NY are you?I'm in Bethel,Sullivan county,yo're welcome to borrow mine, you have to get the darts from Pneu dart, consistent at 10 yards I put them in a 1 dollar coin circle and get consistent fast with it.Fernando

I also have a question for the copper tube guys, I have heard several of you talk about this in the past so I thought I would try it, at 10 yards I can hit very consistant and I thought with enough velocity. but when I went to dart a buck, he was at about 10 yard, the dart hit perfectly but just fell to the ground, so I went over there and picked up the dart put it back in the tube and did the same to another buck with the same results, now I've been told several times that I am full of hot air but apparently not enough, just how much does it take?

I made some copper tube guns . I have the blow gun for telingect darts , they are of smaller caliber than the pneudarts . The pneudarts are about 50 caliber, 1/2 inch, so they fit in copper tube quite well. I took the small co 2 power capsule and cut it off and sharpened it to cut round patches from garbage bags . They are oversized of the 1/2 inch pipe and tape them to the bottom of the darts to get a better seal when you blow on them. I also have found a way to reload the pneudarts but that is another story. You have to learn to blow from your lungs and not your cheeks full of air. I made this mistake at first. Don't fill your mouth with air before the shot and you will have to use your lungs....they hold much more air than your mouth and you will get better velocity. Jim

So you're saying that I can shoot a pneudart dart through 1/2" copper tubing and be successful? I have deer I can't get close enough (sometimes) to make a shot with the gun but other times I have them in a situation where I could almost spit on the same deer...

Yes , pneu darts work in the 1/2 inch tube . Make sure you have a straight piece about 40-48 inches long, clean out the inside ....it has oils and things in it that will slow it down. I flair the end by tapping on a 3/8 inch socket extension placed into the end. I wrap the business end with electrical tape to avoid bumping it and making it out of round. Jim

Jim, you use the round end of the extension to make the copper bigger? Then the dart stays at that end? Do you need a "patch" around the dart such as you would when shooting a cap and ball blackpowder gun?

I flange the mouth piece with the extension to make putting the dart in a little easier and for fitting your mouth better too. The piece of plastic , about 3/4 inch in diameter , is just stuck the the end of the dart with a piece of tape made into a circle so when you blow , it seals against the barrel of the gun and stops blow by of air when you shoot. I will post some pics of this so show how it works . Jim
