We manufacture a 350 lb feed that we call horn saver. We feed X-Factor & our other bucks from it with no horn damage.

The key is to protect the vulnerable tips of the tines. If they aren't fed from a feeder with this design in mind it can be your worst nightmare. Broken or damaged velvet leeds to flies & infection which can result in death of the animal. Deer with smaller antlers may not experience a problem from an inferior feeder but if you have a buck blow up you need to be prepared. Our feeder handles pellets or textured feed. Last year we grew out two bucks that scored over 500 inches without any horn damage.
