Which buck would you breed with and why (pedigrees being equal) the clean 6X6 is a 2yr old and the other is a 3yr old.

I just see alot of talk about breeding for the typical look but when it comes down to it inches pay a lot better.

I think it comes down to each his own as far as look is concerned....However, i do feel we need to be careful where we go with the Non typicals....as long as they can hold their head up....I am ok with them....Still like the Big Typical with maybe a little extra look the best....just my opinion!!!

I sell shooters for a lot of people and they are sold by the inch. As long as they have good spread and tine length I would be breeding for inches over typical.

If your looking for inches.....go with timberjack.....timberjack and then timberjack......he puts the mass and inches on...without a doubt you wont be let down........i know there are others out there but this guy makes them pop out all over and the inches just fly........if thats what your looking for.......

I would breed with the 2nd one because he looks to have a bigger frame but pic number 6 has a buck in the back ground I would choose over both he is in the middle of these two deer. He has a frame and enough trash to get a nice score with keeping to the good look.

Randy interesting question. I have been raising deer long enough to state my opinion right, wrong or indifferent.

I am in agreement with Tom. I would use either buck depending on the doe. I am breeding for the typical look with just a few extras. If my does genetics looked like the first buck I would breed her with the second just once.

If the doe genetics consisted of the second I would breed her and her does with the first type of genetics a couple times.

Just my thoughts

Breed the non-typical to some nice typical doe and have huge typicals with enough extra junk to get paid well. Plus if they have big typical frames they will sell themselves.
