Please, anyone. I am a rehabber in GA. I usually just work with fawns and have good success. Several years ago, I was raising 9 babies. One by one, they all stopped eating. Their gums turned white, their teeth fell out and they died a terrible death until I euthanized them. Most of the GA rehabbers experienced this phenomenon.
Since then, no one has seen this terrible plague. Today, one of my babies stopped eating. He's been a healthy little buck. His tongue doesn't seem to want to grasp the nipple. I just checked and his gums are white and teeth loose. I am sick! I cannot go through this again. One of the rehabbers with whom I work is a vet and he has no idea what this is. Surely someone has heard of this or seen this or has an idea what we can do. Please.
