I wanted to see what bucks out there you all think will make the 400" club this year. Lets make this fun and not a big controversy. There are so many great bucks that might make that magic 400" mark it is fun to watch and talk about. Talk about them and show off some of those pictures. I will add some pictures soon.

I was watching to see if any Tonto sons would make a run.....Lakota..... Outcross

What about Noble, Did he have his peak last year or is the change going to give him a boost?

Lonetree, from Al Morhart's in Canada will be four and still a year away from fully mature, he was 312@3 and still has room to grow

Blue Mountain will probably put a couple big ones out there,

To be really big they have to grow...... everywhere, beams(30+), mass(40+ 40), spread(25+), tine length (6 or more 12"+),tines(somewhere close to 80 scorable points) and they have to put lots of frame tines up and fork or flier all of them and 80+ inches on the brow's is a must and ....oh yeah while he's at it grow 60 -70 inches off the bottom.

I'm just guessing there will be around 20 buck break 400".

Hey Droptine, I'm with you, I have already broke they 300 mark.

Curtis, I would take a dozen or so of those bucks you are talking about. But to tell the truth I would prefer to raise bucks that have anything from 5x5 to 7x7 mainframes, wide, long tined, typical frames, with about 25" to 30" of extras all above the brows. Gross scores around the 250" to 280" range.

Again, I will take all the 400" bucks that might "fall my way". But I just am saying I would prefer to raise bucks I like the looks of.

The industry has come a long ways baby.

I am just afraid some of these bucks are being helped to get to their size if you know what I mean......I like the ones that grow by simple good genetics and no help from any kinds of chemicals or special medicines to promote their growth.........kind of like steriods in sports.............

I just seen the picture of maxbo xl under new antlers. He should break 400" and he is only 3!! Wow!! He might just be the "one"..

I'm with you Roger, I like deer with main beams, wide long beams with tall tines. It seems really tricky to produce larged framed deer that don't ball up. It seems the industry is pushing inches.

I remember seeing Noble last year at the TDA, now that's an increadible frame. When I first started raising deer I drove from East TX to MRW Strawser's place 1000 miles, to buy a Banshee doe because he was the best looking deer I had ever seen. Big and frammy, that's what I like.

I am with alot of you on this. I have not broken the 300" mark even because my herd is all typical genetics. I have one that will probably break 300" this year but I am more excited about a few typical 2 year olds that might hit 7 X 7 with almost no trash.

That said, I really do like to see the BIG boys that come out of the wood work about this time of year. There are a few up this way that I have been watching that I think will be close if not break the 400" mark at 3 years old. It is always fun to see how some of these bucks do it and what genetics are doing it. I fugured some one would have some pictures up for us by now though.
