yearling buck hit fence

we had a yearling buck hit the fence and got hung up and ripped the velvet off his antler it looks like bone or cartlidge sticking up. He looks calm and fine but a little bloody around the bone . what should we do , I was thinking of tranking and giving nuflor and wrapping with tare to keep the bugs away

We had the same thing happen to a 2 year old 2 days ago. He bled pretty bad for a few hours. By this afternoon he was already completely scabed over. Not sure if we did the right thing, but I did nothing at all. We had some pretty heavy rains over those 2 days which probably helped keep it clean.

We also use Bulletproof from Larry Sheffield which helps build the immune system and also helps in the healing process. We just coated slices of apples with his product and fed the slices directly to the buck. The difference in 2 days is pretty remarkable.
