I have a neutered buck. He stays in velvet, has never shed his antlers but his antlers grow a little every year. One of his antlers has started growing out from the base and it is almost touching right over his eye. Any suggestions on what to do?

My buck has injured his antler. At first it looked like a drop tine but now it’s starting to swell. My question is should I remove it or just watch it? I’m attaching the best picture I could get of it. Thank you for any advice you can give me. I’ve raised deer for 9 years and this is the first...
Any advice on what to do with this buck. I'm not sure what is going on. I had him down and it is solid and still rounded. It looks like he tore the top off his Pedicle. This deer did have an infection last year but dropped both antlers normally in February. I gave antibiotics and put iodine on it.
Interested to hear why some antlers drop off some bucks early and bucks in the same pen, eating the same feed, drop a month later. Is it strictly on body condition?? Thanks for any feedback!
Now that most bucks have shed their antlers, I'm curious to see what you feel is an "average" or "respectable" increase in antler growth, (in inches) not including spread, from 2 yrs to 3 yrs, and 3 yrs to 4 yrs?
in weight, how much velvet does the typical deer produce?
does anyone on here harvest antler velvet for resale, if yes It would be great to hear from you and pick your brain a little bit
thanks

It is that time of year again! Every year I receive a number of calls/texts regarding fawn care and antler damage. I want to extend my contact information to everyone that may need assistance. I am not wanting anything in return, this is simply a farmer attempting to help others who may not have...
This might be a very stupid question and one with no real answer at all. Last spring I got my first buck that was a yearling. I have no idea with being so new to raising deer weather he grew a good first rack or not but by looking at many pics on here he was very much on the small side in...
The Kentucky Antler Company is a crooked business! They bought 3 animals from me last year. We agreed to 50% up front and the other half in 30 days. We were in contact for 5-6 months with them saying "we'll get the check out next week". I did get a partial payment, but never received the...
I took some pictures of my bucks yesterday and then compared them to the same time period last year. I found that my deer appear to be maybe 10 days to two weeks behind schedule from last year. Has anyone else noticed this? It was an extremely cold winter here in NW PA and I'm thinking that...
I would like to know if anyone has seen this before?! This is a picture of a 2 yr olds shed, when he was a yearling I cut his antlers. He then rubbed the hide off the top of his head. This year at 2 when he shed his antlers were attached at the base. My question is, will he continue to shed...
I would like to get some opinions on antler maximizer. I have heard of shock effect and top score. Has anyone used these and if so what are your thoughts? I had a visit from a peserve owner and he could not believe how great my 2 yr. Olds looked without any top dressing. He said that I used it...
Looking for an elk of stag antler, about 30" or more long, for a taxidermy project. I only need one, but will buy a pair if you prefer to sell in pairs. It dosen't have to be super great and fresh, but it can't be old and chalky, it will be getting cut up in a couple places. I have been looking...
