Baking Soda for Bloat?

Just curious if anyone who has ever had problem with bloat, specifically with bottle fed fawns, has ever used baking soda to help with the problem. If so, how much did you use, did you put it straight into the bottle, and did it work? Thanks for your feedback!

I have heard of people adding sodium bicarbonate. I don't know if it is an effective treatment for clostridium.

How would I recognize bloat? Just swelling of the stomach?

You will notice the stomach expanding and if you "drum" on it, it will sound hollow
