A couple of month ago I received a call from an elderly lady in VA, who wanted her deceased husband Mr. Saunder’s memorial to go to USSA. This soft spoken lady related to me just how much her husband loved the outdoors and in particular the sport of hunting. She knew he would be thrilled to support the sport he loved. After sharing a few stories about the positive effects of these dream trips on the kids and their families, she told me her husband had just passed away just three hours before the call we were on!

While listening to one of her favorite remembrances of him, I felt the right thing to do was use her memorial to bring a home state VA youth on a hunt to remember.

It just so happened that a couple weeks ago, I got a call from Ohio deer farmer Dean Bontrager, who told me that Kevin Glick had a nice bull he wanted to donate to a challenged youth. Besides being a top flight deer farmer, Dean and his partners have been a long time advocate of taking kids hunting, regardless of their abilities.

On Oct 2-3, 10 year old Cole will put aside his life threatening illness to hunt in Ohio, and match wits with a big bull elk. While small in stature, Cole’s attitude is determined, and I have little doubt the bull may have a real bad day this weekend!

Please keep little Cole in your prayers that his health will remain good for the hunt.

God bless you all.

Cole's mom called me today to tell me how excited he is having the opportunity to go on an elk hunt. She said, "this hunt is all he talks about and he is telling everyone about it"! I bet his smile is getting bigger by the second!

He will leave tomorrow with his parents on a hunting trip that will never be forgotten. Please keep his family in your prayers for safe travel and a successful hunt. Good luck Cole we all love you! : )

Around 1:00 pm today Cole harvested his 5 X 6 elk. His mom called and told me how ecstatic everyone was. I could hear Cole in the background; he was like any child on Christmas morning! The generosity of so many caring people made it possible for him to truly experience one of the happiest days of his life!

I contacted Mary Saunder’s and told her what we had done with her husband’s memorial fund. She asked me if she could get a picture of him; I told her he lived only 1 ½ hours from her, and we may be able to do more than just send a picture.

I’m sure Mary’s husband is smiling down from heaven right now and happy for Cole!

The taxidermy work for Cole’s Elk will be taken care of by Jennifer Beck the President of the Virginia Taxidermy Association.

A very special thank you to Kevin Glick and KG Ranch for making Cole’s dream hunt possible; may God bless you all.

Bridget I would also like to offer an animal for a hunt...If you have places that can use them.I have Piebald deer, regular, and Fallow deer.

If you need other thing let me know what you need...I'll see what I can do ...and if you have any info that needs passed along I would also be able to help with that.

I don't think he will be healthy enough for quite a while.

But thank you for thinking of him.:)

I thought about seeing if anyone around him in Ohio would be interested in opening up their farm for a visit or taking a bottle raised fawn to visit him.
