Scott who is the buck? How old is he? when did he shed his antlers?

Randy,

Kodiak (Typhoons father) lost his buttons Feb 3. Kodiak is 6 years old and has always been an early grower. Just exciting to see another year.

Does he shed that third horn seperate?

Virgil,

This year kodiak shed his middle antler after. This past year we tested leaving most of our buck pens with their antlers on to avoid skull damage. Still not sure the best saw off and some skull damage or antlers left on and % loss?

If i cut that middle antler off in September Virgil do you know where i could fine a good buck tupea with just a little touch of gray? lol

Here is Kodak (Typhoons father!)

The 3rd antler in the middle is from an injury he got while fighting.

This coming yearling- on the top side it is a Rolex and a Thiex 50/50 doe. On the bottom side it is a Maxbo dream on a Full House doe. Can't wait to see him grow!

Randy, I'm alittle slow on the camera this year, but here are some I could get today. Thet are starting to grow some. What do you think?

BTW- The last green tag #16 buck is the one that cut his leg last year.

Any of them out of PJ. Mine are just starting not much to take picture of yet.Looking good so far though.

The middle one with the orange tag is P.J. He looks to be coming out alot wider this year. The cut leg buck is out of a P.J. daughter. I do have some P.J. two year olds splitting eyeguards as well. I will try to get them tonight. Rockstar is alittle behind, but is double the mass as the others. That straw of P.J. on W.E. is a STEAL guys, I'm warning you. I've almost bought it back myself.

when should i start seeing some antler on my only buck which is a yearling? i am in minnesota, thanks chris

They all grow differently Chris. Don't worry, it doesn't matter when and how they start... only how they finish!!!

Chris-

Seems our Minnesota deer are always behind everyone elses for some reason. Not much growing in our pens yet....just a little bit of shiny stubs. Still have 2 bucks with 1 side on. One yearling (breeder) just lost one side on Sunday and still has the other side on.
