Roger always has something to say. It's just taking him a little while to calculate how much to charge by the pound....$500-1500.00 per pound????

Today we had a nice surprise after yesterdays HORRIBLE day we had here.

Today we had a buck fawn and a doe fawn born. We weren't expecting her to have twins but she pulled it off anyway. The fawns are, Matrix / Tonto / PA Geronimo. Double PA Geronimo and double Tonto. I can't wait to outcross the little girl with Updraft. I want to thank Ron and Mary Pierce for their donation at the WOW benefit of a Tonto doe, and then for going the extra mile when their original donation died before I got it home.

The horrible day was when a 2 year old I was keeping secret somehow tore his antler OFF on the fence and then turned the other side into a bloody stump.

He is a PJ son out of Max Thrust's mother which is Flees' Butkus/Magnum/Louie. That makes him pure Flees and out of a proven production doe. He WAS off to an even better start than what Updraft was last year at age 2. I thought I had another winner on the farm:mad:

Now I just hope we can keep him alive:(

Hope it gets better for ya Roger! If it makes ya feel better I'v had about a week like that! So lets hope it gets better. Good luck with that buck sounds like a real humdinger!

Roger,

Sorry to here of antler damage to your PJ son. Do you have any photos of him before he got hurt? I have couple of 3 year old PJ sons that also looked great at 2 years old.( they were out of Maxbo full sister does) With PJ being born at Apple Creek we have some great PJ does to look at crossing with Updraft or Updraft sons in the future. Thanks for keeping us posted.

I had not taken any pics of that PJ son yet this year. I was gone from home from May 9th until May 26th and since coming home I have been really busy so I only snapped 2 pictures of Updraft just to compare them to last years pics at this time. (Of which Updraft is ahead of what he was last year at this time)

I really am disappointed that this PJ son got hurt. His name is Afterburner and he is the one in the middle in this picture from last year. Not a big yearling but was off to a super start this year at age 2.

Michael, you know you guys own the mother now. She was live bred to Updraft this year. That was a nice purchase by you guys at the Top 30:)

Roger, I didn't think of that. Still sucks that he busted himself up. What caused it? Might have to breed her to Updraft again. Just in case it worked the first time...lol

Michael, I have no idea what caused him to bust himself up on the fence. I just know I am really disappointed by it. As you know we have such a small number of animals, but I am proud to be producing like we are. It would have been nice to have another monster buck on the farm again this year besides Updraft. I guess we will have to see how Contrail does and we still have Max Thrust here until fall as well.

If everyone could please keep my mom in your thoughts for me. She fell and now will need surgery to repair a badly broken wrist and arm.

Thanks all!

Man Rog, you are having some kinda heck these last few weeks. Hope it all works out with your mom. We will keep her in our prayers

Roger, your Mother will be in my prayers. Allen

Roger,

I will pray for a speedy recovery and an easy operation. I just read one out of three people over sixty five will fall each year. Jack

Thank you Delfred, Michael, Allen, Mike and Angie, and Jack. It means a lot to me and I will recall your caring in the years ahead.

Her operation went well. Apparently the doctor said it was worse than he had expected and her recovery will be very long. They are talking 6 months for her to recover her hand control.

I can't wait to get home and see her.

Thanks again.
