Youth and Hunting

Here are a couple pictures of our oldest daughter Grace who started hunting with me when she was two. She's seven now and hunting for a buck this year with a crossbow under PA's mentor hunting program. The last picture is of our youngest daughter, Jordyn, who is 4 and is now coming along, too! It's such a joy to take our girls!

6552:11-29-10 050.- This buck was sneaking thru the laural on the mountain above our deer farm in central pa around 8:30 a.m. opening day when my son brandon who is 13 was sitting with me in our 2 man ladder stand notice him coming.He had trouble picking a shot with the buck going in and out of the laural and when he told me he had a shot the buck laid down.Go figure,he turned to me and said how long can he lay there and I said 5 minutes or 5 hours.He continued to hold his gun on him for what seemed like 2 hours when a few does came thru and put the buck back on his feet.He took two steps and that was it Brandon shot and he didn't go 5 feet.It was a really good shot,he ended up being an 8 point with a 15" spread and I am really proud of him.Brandon loves hunting and deer farming he has really made it a big part of his life.This was his second buck but one we both will remember for along time.Thanks for letting us share.

Way to go, Brandon! I'm sure you'll have to tell that story at Outdoorsman's Camp next summer!

Congrats to the proud parents and the youngsters that harvested some fine deer, I will never forget my first deer and sitting with my dad, very special times. Keep the post coming, this is a great thread.

There is no better time then the time I get to spend in the woods with my son.......it honestly is priceless!!!! I charish every second......I can't imagine not having our hunting time together......thank You Father God!!
