Thanks for all the comments and inquiries regarding Ballistic. He is a three year old son of HyJax, who is a High Roller son out of a Jack doe. His dam side is Redoy Ruger bred to a Stretch doe. At age 2 he scored 360+ but was disorganized and as a result we put him in a breeding pen with white and pied does. We do have a white buck fawn and a pied buck fawn from him so far.

We believe he has 60+ points and scores around 400" at this time. Seems like every couple of days we spot a few more points starting, like the drop he has coming on his right side. We will draw semen on him this fall and yes, we will take orders now. We are asking $2000 per straw for the preseason orders and need a 50% deposit. We are only going to do a limited amount of preseason orders since the price may change if he exceeds 500". We will post pictures of him from time to time as he grows and keep our fingers crossed all continues to go well!

amazing! I saw Free Agent last year and if you have never seen one of these amazing animals it is mind blowing! I truley am amazed at them! Congats Wild Rivers!!! I know many can't see it but he is a truly beautiful animal!

I just guess we gave him the right name - Ballistic because he has certainly gone ballistic. At least they are fairly evenly distributed and balanced, which I think makes it easier to carry. We just can't believe how one deer can grow that much antler in that short a timeframe. Gary keeps trying to count the points but it is hard because even though he will come close for peanuts, he is still moving around. Then he has tried to count the points and average the length to get an idea on the score, but it is really hard. I can't imagine trying to score him either - I wouldn't think two people would get the same score! Where do you measure for mass?? and the mass is huge!

Totally unreal !!! Congratulations are certainly in order. Ballistic is surely the right name for such a tremendous Whitetail. Allen

Holy cow! That is one amazing mess of bone. I bet you cant take your eyes of of him when your outside. Congratulations!

Here are some updated photos of Ballistic taken July 1. He keeps pushing the tine length out. We think he has about 70 points. Folks keep asking us what we think he scores and how we are trying to estimate his score is by giving him a basic 150 inches for beams, spread and mass. Then we try to count his tines and we come up with about 70 and then try to get an average length. Given all of that, we think he has hit 500+. Most of his tines are really long and he has a lot of them! Gary thinks the average tine length is between 5 and 6 inches right now. Interest in semen has been good - we will probably offer the preseason special price for a short while longer.

Wild Rivers,

Congrats on a great great deer! I love the big non-typicals when both sides are fairly matched. He is a crazy big non-typical but both sides match each other rather nicely! AND THE NAME IS PERFECT!

I usually don't go out on a limb from pictures but he looks like he may out-score all the big deer out there. I would be willing to bet that he will break the world record and set a new mark. WOW!

With that said, I wonder if a deer like him will pass down that antler configuration or if that is attributed to some other environmental factor? My guess is that it is genetic since both sides are so evenly matched.

Did you use him in the past? What are the oldest sons you have from him? It will be interesting to see what he produces. I'm sure it will be big!

Again congrats! Keep the pictures coming. Also, keep us informed when he is scored. I can't wait to hear. Whoever scores him will need a lot of time and tape. You have us all glued to the computer screen! :D

This past fall was the first time we used him for breeding. Last year he broke an antler right about this time and we had to dart him and treat it - we think he pretty much stopped growing then. But as a two year old he scored 360+ but wasn't so organized - probably because of breaking that tine off on the one side and then stopped growing early. We've just been watching him in amazement. We realize he isn't everyone's idea of the perfect deer, but any buck that can grow that kind of antler is something else. Since it seems pretty evenly distributed, and are mostly up tines, he hasn't had a problem carrying it - at least yet. Now we just have to keep him healthy!

Wild Rivers, Wow what a great deer, I hope he stays healthy for you. Congrats and I`m happy to see such a tremendous animal on your farm.

Here are some updated photos of Ballistic that were taken today, July 15. He looks different from every angle because you can see different points each way. We were comparing a couple of front shots of him and even if he tilts his head a little you can see points on one photo you can't see on the other.

We've had a few folks say they wanted to do a farm visit to see Ballistic and some of our other bucks. If you can, it would be better for us in July - August is very busy. Realize not everyone will be grown out in July, but we just aren't going to have much time in August to meet with folks.

We are two hours north of Green Bay, WI and 20 miles south of Iron Mountain, MI. If you are coming from the east you can go up through lower Michigan and across the Upper Peninsula - and miss Chicago. Give us a call or drop us an email and we'll give you directions. Thanks for looking!
