Buck fawn that looks pregnant

We have a buck fawn that looks pregnant. We have wormed him twice - once with cydectin and once with ivomec plus. He acts fine, pooping and eating are fine. He kind of jiggles his belly as he runs and from one of the pictures you can see his ribs show. We feed their normal feed pellet and have been throwing an ear of corn and one apple in for each fawn. Not saying that's all they would all agree to eat only one a piece :0) but that's the amount we'd throw in as treats. I know he liked the corn. He is mother-raised. ALL other fawns (bucks and does) are doing great. He's been like this for about a month now.

Do you have any suggestions as to what it could be? Thanks.

I've seen quite a few of these. Normally bacterial infections in the gut from clostridium a to e.coli infections. You can hear them slosh across the pen. I have seen vagal atony as well- paralyzed vagal nerve to rumen that prevents normal contraction to the rumen. Not much out there to help these. If I can find a treatment for these guys, I will holler. We've tried everything from baytril to naxcel and previcid. I like more roughage than grain to soak up some fluid nd to create "scratch factor". Roughage is rough and it scrapes the walls of the rumen, increasing bloodflow, thus increasing absorption and increasing rumen contractions, adding probiotics will help. I've hd to transfaunate them as well. Sedate them and place a rumen tube by mouth to drain off fluid and use rumen fluid from another deer or goat to re plenish rumen microflora- contact your vet foe this though. Don't want to create an aspiration pneumonia. God bless and good luck
