I thought I would start a thread on the blessings of the industry. I figured here would be a good place to share the positive side of the deer industry. What has happened that you are grateful for and has been a blessing to you, your family, or others? Pictures would be awesome, as well!

I'll start . . .

We have had the opportunity on several occasions to take adults with terminal illnesses on hunts and be a part of seeing children with life-altering disabilities go on hunts. These are memories that I pray I will never forget. I also look forward to many more of these opportunities!

Here is a link to the YouTube video of the latest hunt this fall.

Also, it was such a blessing to raise our first fawn (still our only deer; but, Lord willing, she'll be giving birth to some Fear Factor babies next spring) in our house for the first few weeks of her life. We were so blessed by this experience and by all the helpful advice that we were given by so many of you. Lord willing, that will not be our last fawn in the house.

ok, your turn . . .

Well, I’ve only been at this for a couple years so I don’t have a lot of experience to draw from but I will say that the deer industry seems to have more Christian individuals than most industries I’ve been involved with. In a world filled with Anti-Christian movements with goals to take God out of everything from the Pledge of Allegiance to Christmas, that’s nice to see.

There also seems to be a lot of individuals on this forum that are always willing to lend a helping hand when asked. I know there are some disputes as well, but for the most part, I think there are more individuals with good intentions, than bad. When I started, and continuing as we speak, I had one of the big guys in our industry take me under his wing a little bit and help me get started, and as a result I’m building my herd from the ground up with top notch genetics.

I’m also thankful that if done right, I can supplement my income (after I invested a ton) with something I love to do. In addition, I can teach my four daughters (if you have a son you would like to donate, please PM me) many life lessons from honesty and hard work ethic to animal husbandry and business planning, all while doing something that I love.

I don’t post much, I’m more of a “taker in’er” than a “talker” but I figured I would try to get this thread started with some of the positives that come to the top of my head at midnight thirty!

The deer business has been dreams come true for me and my family! As a young boy I could never have imagined that righting an essay on my life’s dream to be a professional hunter and outdoors enthusiast could become a reality for me today. I love what I do for a full time living which is a combination of breeding deer at Walk Brothers whitetails farms and guiding and operations at the Quest Haven hunting ranches. I wake up every day and start my morning thanking God for this very blessed opportunity that has become my life. With 6 children at the age of 32 and many daily demands from our business I am very thankful to have the flexibility to work with these awesome animals. It has given me opportunity to raise my children in an environment that they learn responsibility, hard work = rewards, and how to be an honest entrepreneur. For me the friends, business partners and you my fellow deer farmer have made my experience in this business almost too good to be true. What a great tread Joe! Thank you for being a positive light here on these forums and if those Fear Factor fawns that are on their way don’t come, give me a call and we will give you a free straw for next year! God Bless:)

God has blessed our effots at Browning Whitetails in all areas, this has been a great adventure. Deer farming is a huge part of my life but i have to be careful to keep in all in perspective, I worry daily about things to be done but I got a wake up call Monday when I received a call from my son in law a highway patrolman here in OH that he was on site of a car crash where my nephew lost his life and he asked me to meet him at my brothers to help in letting him know that he had just lost a son that he will never see agin this side of Heaven. It woke me up realizing that these are just animals with no soul and deer farming while enjoyable here on earth will reap no benifits for us in heaven, as the Bible says ONLY WHATS DONE FOR CHRIST WILL LAST.....

I AM THANKFUL for a DELIVERER that was delivered by a Virgin almost 2000 years ago

Well, I have to say that God has blessed my life so much this year. As owner of The Wildlife Gallery Taxidermy studio here in Michigan and we have been blessed beyond measure! We have been providing the taxidermy work for the Tony Semple Foundation for Hope. Tony takes kids with life threatening illnesses hunting each fall. What a great out pouring of love for the kids. As far as deer farming goes, at Antler Developments our deer are getting bigger and better every year. It is so much fun! We were able to add "Cashed Out" as a new breeder this year and I know he will produce. It is exciting to anticipate the up coming season. Our wishes for each of you are simple, Put God first in all things and he will take care of your every need. Blessings to all, Brad

I would just like to say that I am so grateful to be a part of this amazing industry! God has blessed me so much! He has given me this dream and passion for deer farming that is uncontrollable! I started raising deer with my father when I was ten years old and each year just gets better and better. Now I'm 20, earning my bachelors in business from Ohio Christian University and my tuition is fully paid for. God keeps taking me to new heights. I'm on my way to making a living through this industry and fulfilling God's calling on my life.
