Show-Me Whitetails
When I had to saw Redlines rack this past summer (early August) I sent the antlers off to a freeze drying service to have them preserved. Although they lost a lot of size during the drying process, they still blew me away when I got them back from the freeze dryer a few days ago. I took them to my taxadermist to have them mounted back on Redline's skull ( he died in late October, from EHD). I got a call today, saying that he had finished reattatching the antlers, so I went to see the finished product. I took a set of replicas along with me from X- Factor at 3 yrs. old for comparison. X- Factor is one of my favorite bucks of all time, so much so, that I puchased his mother last year. When I walked in and saw Redline's horns put back on, it took my breath away, I had forgotten how big he really was. The following pics are from today 3-2-2012, with Redlines freshly repaired skull laying beside X- Factor's 3 year old replica ( X- Factor was scored at 509" at 3). Redline was 30 to 45 days from finishing out his rack when I had to remove his antlers last summer, because they were getting to heavy for him to hold his head up. ( they weighed 25.4 lbs on digital scales the day I removed them),the points were still very rounded and a long way from being finished out. He was truly an exceptional animal with an ability to push blood to his antlers like no other buck that I have never seen. We are fortunate to have several does out of him and plan to make some great crosses with them in the next few years. Congradulations to the breeders who had enough foresight to know that they were looking at something special in Redline. Only a handful of three year old bucks in the history of our industry can compare to what Redline put on his head.It was a privelage to have him on our farm. Darren 10286:097.

Redline is one of those special animals! It will be fun to watch his offspring grow. And I really like Redbull. He is in my pick of one of the top 2 year olds I've seen all year. ;)

DARREN, That sure is some bone there. Luckily I have two of his sons out of a Doc over Moose doe. And one of his daughters out of an Avalanche doe (purple 28) that was Ai`ed to Redbull this year. I am very excited to see the offspring. My two up coming Redline yearlings have huge humps on there head were the antlers are starting to grow.

To all, My visit to Darren`s farm last August was after they had cut Redlines antlers and I was amazed when Darren showed me those monster antlers. And Redbull was one of the most amazing two year old bucks I had ever seen.

KEEP GROWING THEM BIG DARREN. HOPE I CAN WITH THERE OFFSPRING.

I wanted to show this pic of Redline taken last summer in early July he was 3 yrs old last summer, and the second pic is of Redline's half brother, Redbull. Redbull was 2 last year. We have big hopes for him as a 3 yr old this year. Both of these bucks are out of different sires-Redlines sire is Hydro-ax and Redbulls sire is Rolls Royce. Both of them are out of my "superdoe" Purple 35. She has had only 4 sons that have reached the age of 2. All 4 have been over 300 + at 2 yrs, Redlines womb brother, Aftershock is another one of her sons that broke 300" at 2. I sold to him to my friend John Ward.I also sold my share of Energizer to John, so that I could concentrate my efforts on Redline and Redbull. Purple 35 has an X-Factor button buck on the ground this year that is showing alot of potential, he is huge bodied and his buttons are very visible, he walks with pride and just has that look.

Boy Darren I'm glad I have 2 straws of Redline and a straw of Redbull to use this year.

Now which does are worthy? :)

Matt, you rescued me when I ran out of gas on I-44 and you stuck with me while we outran the cops. I will help you any way I can. Its the least I can do.:D . I dont have much Redline semen left, so use it wisely. Darren

When I come out there this summer we will have to set down and talk about which pedigree we think will hit best. That's if they are not still looking for the two trucks that dove off I-44 through a church parking lot. :D

I have had several people ask me how old Redline is in the pictures in my first post, he is 3. He died last year at 3 , so we will never know what he would have done as a mature:(. He has several big sons on the ground that will be 2 yrs old this year and several sons that are coming yearlings. Here is a pic of one of his yearlings from last summer. 10293:048.
