It's that time of the year! Growing season has started! Good Luck & Good Health to all. We know this is kind of like fawning season, can't wait for the first arrival and really happy to see it come to an end. But the antler growing season is so much easier on us statring off, all the tension comes when they are finishing up.

I have been waiting for this post to FINALLY start for the year. I, like most people get addicted to this post all summer. Who is that Wayne?

Todd

Very nice Wayne! I have one that has started too(not that much!) and the others still look like they're just scabbed over.

Todd: That picture was Gold Dust, this is the earliest start for him. He usually holds those caps. X-Factor & Fear Factor have also started.

Here's a 2011 Buck fawn at Barkley Young's farm. I don't think we can refer to these as "buttons" at this point! He has the most growth I've ever seen on a buck fawn... will be interesting to see how he does this year as a yearling.

He's out of Mark Sipes' Outrigger (over 30" Inside spread @ 3) and Wildman's (27 3/4" Inside @ 2) mother at Barkley Young's farm.

Obviously I have a good bit of Barkley's line in my herd, and Texas Tea's mother is out of an Elijah (Wildman's sire) doe.

There's some relation to what I have on my farm, but this is all Mark and Barkley right here!

thanks mike, nice buck,he got their, does he or you use shock effect?????

Mike Nedry a few years back had a buck fawn that was way out there on his spikes .It was the biggest that I ever saw. I think it was out of Bam-Bam.Mike that is a great buck fawn buddy , hope he blow up this year for you .I don"t know what it is but my bucks are turning it on this year, I will try to post some pictures , I got a Grizzly buck about splitting at his G/2 and his antlers are black with some reddish color at the tips . So you know I had a buddy in OK. that left a bucket of Shock Effect Enhancer in the pin with his big buck. The time he got back to the pin the buck had ate third of the bucket. He told be that his antlers turn will bright red for a while , he took him off a week and starded him back up . The antlers went back black in a few days. The key is don"t let your bucket stay in a pin

I've never used it and neither does Barkley, but after seeing Steve's post we might have to try it! I've heard great things about it.

I'm not one to tweak or change things very often when it comes to feed. All of our deer are in great condition, and after growing some of the bucks that we have, I'm just a little hesitant to do anything new.

Mike I don" blame you ,the deer you guys grow is over the top .It is hard to make any change when your deer does good ever year like yours.I made a couple of changes this year , I will try to get some pictures on here this evening. All I know there better this year then I ever had.I just hope they keep it up.By the way we will be on 39 shows with Keith Warren starting in april threw June. I hope ever body a good growing season this year God Bless

Faye took a few pictures today, I am happy with these guys . One thing there doing is picking up there eating for sure. That is a Grizzly that going to his G/2.
