I just got done running a hot wire around my pen and this is what I came up with. Works great cause you can make them any length you need, I made these around 10" off the fence and a foot off the ground. Its 10 gauge brace wire twisted around a plastic donut then twisted around the fence close to a post for better strength. Put them about every other post and ran high tensile wire. Hit em with the lawn mower and they bounce right back. Thought someone might find this helpful.

where do you get the donuts???? I also see you spray your fence line , so deer wont try and get to the greener side of the fence im thinking . Iv seen round up rust gavl, fence in a cupl, of years , when sprayed on it, thought it might be helpful:)

The donuts came from rural king or tractor supply. The black ones seem to be better with a ten year warranty. I have also heard that roundup with rust the fence. I try spraying the grass as close to ground as possible since my bottom strand of fence is buried in the ground anyway. I figured the roundup can't be any worse than running the lawnmower against it everytime I mow or hitting it with weedeater string. I thought about laying a soaker hose along the fence line and pumping it with roundup couple times a year but haven't tried that yet

Yeah pepper spray works real well for those mean guys that want a peice of you too........they don't like it too much.....learn real fast.......and if that don't work....well......we all know they next option......but that PVC idea sound good.......might give it a try!!
