Need advice on a broken antler

I have a three year old buck (Rampage) with a broken tine. He did the same thing last year about this time. Last year I darted him with Draxxin to stave off infection. As you can probably see in the second picture the flies are really bad right now. Should I dart him with Draxxin again? Should I tranq him and spray him and remove the broken tine? Should I just keep an eye on him? One thing to consider about tranq'ing him is the pen is steep with lots of trees and rocks. He could damage the antler worse in the process. Earlier this year he scraped the back side of his right beam. Maybe he is a chronic hornbuster. Unfortunately he is growing very fast right now and this will no doubt slow him down. Any advice is welcomed, I realize the final decision is mine to make so don't be afraid of giving bad advice.

Thanks,

Roger I had that happen to me 5 days ago Flip Jr broke off a drop tine I put him down that night . I cut the drop the rest of the way off ,put some blood stop power on it and put some Swat ointment on it .This is a fly repellent and for wounds it is pink. Make sure you do not leave him in there with other big buck they will knock off more points trust me

Every year I have one knuckle head that breaks something off. If it is attached it has to be removed. Trim back any loose velvet, spray Catron IV on the wound, and pour Cylence on his back. The Catron will kill any fly eggs and maggots and help repel the flies. Cylence repels the flies but for longer.
