These 2 boys still have plenty of growing left in them yet.

Thanks much for looking!

Thanks much Mark.

Is it just me or does this buck have a certain nice look to him? I guess I like the way his tines go up and out.

This is a deer at Twin Lakes Mark Pierce calls "Movie Star". He is one of the yearlings out of the Timberjack / Martygraw crosses.

Those are some great looking deer. That Marty Graw / Timberjack cross doesnt seem to be hurting anyones breeding program! Wow! Don Moses is a sweet looking boy. He has a great looking frame! That would do great in my breeding program. Thanks so much for those pics. Roger what are you asking for Updraft semen? He has "the look"

Whitehouse, Updraft semen is $2500 with no restrictions on splitting.

Foodplot, Downdraft is doing as well as can be expected. The pen he is in is pretty hard on him. There are 5 bucks in there and it is sad to watch him get run all over the place like that. He can't lay with the others, he can't eat when the others do. I am pretty puzzled as to why he gets so beat up and what it is I could do for him. If I had another pen I could put him in I would. It wasn't like this for him last year. In over 15 years of raising deer I have never seen a deer get so chased around.

Thanks Independence! Here are some pictures of the bucks from this morning. Check out the last buck on this post. He rubbed his head down to bare skull, got an infection and made it till spring. When he started growing he grew one solid mass off the top of his head. Pretty wild looking! Any one out there had that happen before with one big antler?

One of ours did something similar last year. He ended up dying from an abscess that accumulated under the skull from the damage he did to his head between his pedicles, it was pushing on his brain, and caused "goat polio" (thiamine def). We treated him once and he rebounded. 3 weeks later he relapsed, and died. When we caped him out, we found the mass that had seeped in through a pencil size hole that we couldn't see because of the crazy base growth. His bases were seperate, but only by a hair.

thats too bad that was a pretty cool looking buck too. Our poor guy had infection all the way around his uncovered skull plate, we ran him into the chute 5 days in a row to treat it. It was a lot of work. But he is live and kickin now. So I guess its worth it.

Yeah, we treated him 6 or 7 times and thought we had it licked. Then all of the polio symptoms kicked in and we eventually found out otherwise.

Good news is, we have his momma, and she throws big ones!

Isaac - those look like tree limbs coming out of his head!

It is an amazing thing if you think about it how different each buck is. Yet some appear to be so similar. Isaac do you use any additional adapters or filters on your camera?

I did see a recent picture of Moses and he looks like he did last year but larger in every way. He is a late grower but I predict he will pass up bucks in August that are ahead of him right now. He has a lot of the same look that RCM Noble had last year. Don will probably not posts pictures of him to the public until August since many points (mostly extras) do not have a lot of growth on them yet. He does have the frame and the main tines and is one of the cleanest, largest framed bucks in the country. He sure has changed since he was a two yr. old. JOE

Roger.....Updraft is looking great!!! He sure cleaned up from last year and got those beautiful brows. Max Thrust is really putting on the mass....he looks really heavy!!

Very nice looking deer.....congrats!!

Thanks Susan and everyone else for the nice comments. We are pretty happy with how both Updraft and Max Thrust are turning out this year. Max Thrust only has 2 yearling bucks on the ground but we are pretty happy with them also. It seems like he is going to really pass it on for the few that used him last fall.

I would say it is pretty safe to say that Updraft not only was one of Big Guy's largest yearling sons, but will also be the largest 2 year old son ever. And from what I have seen Updraft will be bigger than the 3 year olds out there also. If we can just keep him healthy for next year:)

Roger, Congratulations and that great looking 2 yr. old Updraft. I was able to see Big Guy in person when he was 2 yrs. and his brother Big Shot. Updraft looks larger than both of them and it's not even August yet. I'm glad you posted the second picture. I have always noticed that most 2 yr. olds look better from behind than the standard picture that is usually from the front. Do you have more buck fawns from him than you had last year from Max Thrust? JOE
