2013 fawns popping out

After the feed back concerning signs when doe may be ready to fawn I go out and the only doe I think is close is isolated to her self. Then a few hours later she's with the others.! Think I'm just rushing it. And now after seeing a couple pictures here on this thread of bred does she may still have a month or two to go not near as big as some.

Many of us have been doing this for 20+ years. You will learn, just be attentive.Yearlings (first time fawners) and old pro mothers don't always respond the birthing the same way either. Be patient and enjoy the experience.

Today on day 192 post A/I, Rose had her first set of fawns. These fawns are Poncho Ranger / GD Big Sir / GD Romeo / Highroller / PA Geronimo. The Highroller doe is Timberjack's sister. The PA Geronimo doe is RDM Goliath's sister. We all know what great looking bucks are coming out of the Romeo line.

Had triplet buck fawns last night out of a yearling sudden explosion doe bred to hardbo. Would you pull any of them and bottle feed if so would you pull the biggest one or smallest.

That said I would pull the fawn that was having the problem regardless of size. If you want to just make things easier for mom then pull the smallest one.

Thanks for the advice Roger I was thinking of waiting as long as they seem like they were getting fed
So very sad for my girlie!!! At 3 she was finally able to conceive but delivered stillborn triplets (2 bucks and a doe) 2 weeks early on Saturday. It appears one had died a few weeks ago and either the early birth or being in utero with it the other 2 did not survive. Not sure what happened as she appeared healthy and gaining nicely. She has not been sick or injured. She has not had to have any medications or shots or such. Her milk sack dropped nice and full that morning. It is heart breaking to hear her out there still crying for her little ones.

Sorry becjo, that is really sad news, but you are just expirenceing one of the few down days of being a deer farmer, we've all been there. Do you have other bred does that will fawn? Seeing the other does fawns will take a little of the sting out.

Awesome news about the triplet buck fawns....I agree 100% with what Roger said....keep a good eye on them especially until the weather gets warmer. Very few mothers can sucessfully feed three babies but I have had a few does that raised all three every year without a problem. Even had one that raised quads sucessfully one year.
They will be awesome bucks if you can keep them all alive...give me a call if you have any problems.

Thanks Laurie we are preety excited hope we can keep them all alive she was 5 to 6 days early. You Know that breeding pretty well.

Its Chirstmas In May at my house. Had 4 does fawn yesterday. 10 fawns total!! 7 buck fawns and 3 doe fawns. Triplet buck fawns out of eye appeal and a ramsay/bogun doe, buck and doe fawn out of eye appeal and a sudden explosion/corbin doe, buck and doe out of mountain ranger and a corbin doe, and 2 buck 1 doe fawn out of cowboy and a gr21/501 doe! God has truely blessed me!!!!!!
