This is a one year old doe. She acts completely normal and seems very healthy. I tried to attach a picture from my iPad but can't make it work. Basically she has what looks like a growth the size of a tennis ball right in front of the brisket.

Black in color? Some of the animals I have seen get a viral cyst within the first two years of life that grows and eventually falls off. They don't cause any harm unless they are on the eyelid or lip.

If it looks like a tick(same color and "look")the size of a gold ball, and sometimes bigger/smaller, it's a viral cyst. Ry-o is right. It will fall off. My 2 year old buck had one for the last year and it just fell off a month ago

Fuso abscesses can occur anywhere on the body. If you have had lumpy jaw, footrot or other fuso related issues recently my guess is that it's probably a fuso abcess. It could also be snake bite considering you are in the south where poisonous snakes are more common. Usually they would strike a little lower unless it was a large snake. If she isn't acting sick(losing weight, ruff coat, dull eyes, different ear position than the norm) I would not intervene. It could also be a hematoma. I had a 2 year old buck years ago that jumped an interior alley way but clipped the top of the metal. He landed hard on his brisket and a hematoma formed the size of a volley ball on the front of his brisket.

abscess, hematoma, or seroma

could also be a benign growth of some type very ulikely

has anyone ever seen fibromas under the skin???? I haven't they have all been exterior

Use a syringe with 16 gage needle poke it and suck.  I think you will find pus and you could drain it. Or let nature take its course as it will make it's own hole and drain itself which is easier.  Give shots for fuso its called fusoguard.

I was just getting ready to post a question about a growth on two of our fawns. This is exactly what it looks like. They have both had lumpy jaw as well.

These fawns are only 2 1/2 months old. One we are able to get a hold of as he is bottle fed. We have drained ones and now there is a new one. The other little one we are not able to get. They are both still eating fine and are healthy otherwise. The growths however are on their shoulder on one and the ankle of the other. It appears painful for them to walk (except when they run from us). They are both being treated with antibiotics. What else can we do or give?

I treat them with la 300 WITH GOOD RESULTS.    I also give the fuso guard shots twice.

you need to lance them and drain if they are abscesses.  Do you want them to open and contaminate your pens with all the bacteria if they are abscesses?

Just lance one on a doe fawn on the front of her shoulder that was the size of a softball, flushed , gave abts and infused the cavity with furacin ointment.  fuso abscesses will grow grow and grow if you let them and then either rupture or the fawn will succumb to the infection.
