Just got an email. Did jumbo get beat this year? King Hardcore 448 5/8@1? If so hows it so quiet.

The email was from todd morgan. It says king hardcore (king kong/hardcore/exxon 443 5/8 @1. Owned by adam and dale helgeland of leland, ia

Body size doesn't look like a yearling to me. Looks like a 2 or 3 year old. Not talking him down, just saying

Dale always grows big bucks. I can say that if people looked at pics of Updraft when he was a yearling they would have thought 2 year old also. Some bucks just grow big bodies. About 3 weeks ago I darted a buck for a friend. A great hit in the front shoulder. A solid amount of drug. The buck acted like he couldn't have cared less for a long time before he finally was tired enough to lay down but wasn't out. Needed a second dose. Four full grown and very capable men lifted he butt on the stretcher into the trailer. Big bucks need big frames.
Take a look at pedigrees and you'll find that A LOT of monster's come from Dale's place.. King Kong, Danger's Redemption, Jumbo's Grand dam (not sure if Jumbo's dam come from Dale's or not), Bone Collector XL, Winnebago, Blackjack, Northern Express.... Just off the top of my head lol. As far as size he's definitely got his feed program together.

Moved Boo yesterday probably one of my favorite bucks ever on the farm here. He is a Updraft 3 yr old.
Congrats Troy! Bucks like that will pay the bills every time!!! Amazing tines and great beams and width. Just a nice amount of extras for added score and unique character that most hunters love. Keep that boy healthy and let him breed.
