I am going to be putting up my fence in the next few weeks. I plan on attaching one end of the fence to the pole and stretching from there with a tractor. Would I need to stretch a little at the time or roll out the whole roll and pull from there? There will only be a handfull of us doing this operation.

Thanks

Stacey

Full stretch here. If you have tractor enough to pull and people enough to have one down at the H..Stretch start..and a couple to watch in the middle. Once you start stretching the fence will come up off the ground and slap against your posts. Then just pull to desired tightness..If you are using cedar the guys in the middle make sure you get no snags on the knots where branches were cut off he post.

Your going to have a h?// of a mess if you don't get someone with some experience to help or go watch someone do it that knows what they or doing before you start.

That last 1" is hard to control with a tractor. A stretcher bar and 2 come-alongs is how I did mine. Pull the fence upright with the tractor, hooked to come-alongs, hooked to the stretcher bar. Then stretch with the come-alongs. If your doing over 320' pulls, you should stretch with a chain type stretcher bar puller.

Same here Richie. Worked pretty good. I did mine with a friend and my girlfriend. Did over 1600 feet in a day.

Right on. Please consider finding someone who has done some fencing before to help. You will save lots of money, long term.

2 of us did our fence.

6 weeks...working on it everyday after work a few hrs

125 holes/posts

6 rolls of fence

Quite the chore but LOVED every minute of it. A couple of 2x4's with the fence sandwiched in between, a come along and chain does wonders

I put up 2 10x330 rolls by my self in a few hours with a small tractor  with forks and a home made  vertical system. Stretched with the tractor and went back and stapled which  took the most time. P.M me and I will e-mail some pictures.

Had a few inquires about this so it will be quicker to post pic here. Used a couple 6 inch  I - beams and cut slots for the forks

and welded a 2inch x 10ft.6 inch pipe to the I - beam. Second same size pipe was fastened to the rear cage of the forks and a bent re-bar to hold the tops of the pipes with a come a long. Next with the fence on 2 saw horses I tipped the forks and added a 2x2 plywood with a 2and a half inch center hole and slid over the pipe and drove into the fence and stood it upright. With the hard part done I just had to fasten to a corner and it unrolled as I backed up. When you are 73 you have to find the best way with out straining and lifting so this is what I came up with. I will post more close-up pic when I find them. I have 27 years of pictures to go through. The top I beam was welded to the bottom one with a hole to drop the pipe into and weld to the bottom beam. Hope this helps. :)
