Hello,

I am a Wildlife Rehabber and I have never seen anything like this. Hoping someone can help.

Fawn History:

Intake: last night around 7 pm

Was Caught in flood waters. Found washed against a fence covered in washed up brush etc. Had to cut her out of the wire. Minimal cuts. In fact it is very surprising she only has one small scrape along her left hip. No idea how long it was penned between fence wire and washed brush etc.

Since intake, she has been drinking 8 oz raw goat milk every 4 hours. She is a big eater. She is very active and vocal. When she is hungry, she lets you know about it. Poo's are pelleted and urine output is great.

She basically has no issue except for this horrible skin problem.

Small plugs of hair are falling out continuously, as well as the yellow 'creamy' filled bumps. Other bumps are there but only a few of them have the yellow pus in them. The bumps without the pus look like the bumps are under the skin. sort of reminds me or a crocodile's skin.

This is what she looks like on most of her head, legs and a few spots on her back.

I would give her a shot of Ivermic and treat spots with antibiotic cream.  I would also give a shot of Draxin.  I believe she has parasites of some type which at one time were active.  Those old sores look like maggot holes.

Thanks.

I do not have draxin. When I was stocking my medicine I ask for draxin. My vet would not give me any. He is dosing the fawns like they are goats and he said we could not use draxin.

Here are the antibiotics we have and are able to get.

Nuflor Gold

Excenel RTU EZ

Naxcel

Albon 5%

Pro Pen G

Will any of this work?

Thanks for your help

your vet is way wrong on the draxxin, hundreds of folks use it on deer al the time. One of the best in my opinion.

Nuflor Gold will work, 6cc/100lb dosage I believe, check your bottle for dosage.

that looks a lot like a severe dose of ant bite also

My next choice would also be Nuflor Gold.  We don't have ants up here in Montana so not familiar to what that would look like.

I have had very good results using Vetericyn hydrogel as a wound spray. Stuff works.

Thanks for your reply.

Is this the one in the Blue bottle or the white bottle (vet formula) ?
