i bought a doe that is to be AIed this fall, choice of breeding to 20/28 or sundowner. she is a shadow over brennkee breeding.

given the option of AIing to 20/28 or sundowner, which would you choose?

which buck has the best production record?

any opinions welcomed and appreciated.

thanks

toml

both have the look.. the question is has either produced what you like?i dont know of sons out of either,so i cant say

I don't know about others but I knew about 20/28 and they made a big fuzz out of him until late 2009, so he has not been breed for more than a couple of years. If this is actually the case, we would only have young bucks so far.

Prior to that date I have only seen a few bucks, mainly typical, and they all have huge frames.

Allthough we've never used 20/28, we do have some offspring out of Sundowner and have been very pleased so far. Here's a bottle-raised Sundowner yearling

20/28 is a beautiful buck, however I haven't heard of ANY exceptional sons out of him. I would put my money on Sundowner for sure.

Tom, I would go with Sundowner he is starting to have some great sons pop up! Edwin Ropp has a super nice son called Sunriser out of him that Edwin says is the largest around................But Kurt's 2 yr old looks like he's gonna be a smoker!!!!!!!

Thanks for the compliment wayne! How are the deer looking up your way? You have been putting some big frames together up there !

X2! That's a really nice frame!

Buzz, those are some great 2 yr olds. Glad to see others are seeing good results from Sundowner. We also have a nice framey sundowner 2 yr old with double drops. I'll try to get a good pic of him posted

Here's the best pic I could manage of the Sundowner 2 yr old. Considering the slower-growing Texas influence on the dam side he's definately showing some potential
