I just got back from vacation last night, I had 2 bottlefeds, which someone was feeding for me. When I got home I was informed that one hasnt been eating all of the sudden. She ate well all week up untill thursday. She only ate about 4 oz. All day. Now today I am feeding her and she has only eaten 2 oz. (if that!)Out of three meals. I am currently feeding her (or trying) 8 oz. 4 times a day.
The only thing I can think of is that it is because they just got released into a new pen, which has plenty of grass and limbs and other browse. I watched her this evening, (and her pen mate) she was nibbling at all sorts of different browse and I assume she has been all week. She has good stool and dosent bloat, so I dont know why she wont take her milk anymore. The other fawn, which is one week older, nibbles but still drinks her 10 oz. at all four meals.
I tried to force feed her tonight but she spit it out and ran away. I also notice she is grinding her teeth a little bit. she looks hydrated and is very active and friendly, but I dont know how much longer this will go on. She is going to start getting dehydrated soon I would imagine. Any thought are appreciated. Thanks
