Scrape it is your business and I could not agree more.....if you feel it is ok it is your call....as I said to Wayne, one time sit and watch an animal get killed from the Golden Marlin and then ask yourself if you feel this is how God wants us to treat his animals.....just saying.....Sorry if I ruffled your feathers wasn't my intent........

Vermin is Vermin... I believe your words dennis but if they come out of their world and come into mine....Well steps will be taken. Golden is part of those steps. Trust me..If they come out and stand around i will do then the favor of a 22 Mag to the head but we all know thats not how they operate. If you are losing fawns and you mess around long enough to find out whats legal and whats right...Well those critters will take care of that problem for you!!!

I hear ya Mike....and I know we have a lot invested in our animals and as I said we need to protect them......I just prefer to do it the most ethical way possible.....I wouldn't want to see my worst enemy die that way....well ok if it were Satan maybe...LOL.......there are many ways to take care of the problem ....Golden is not the only answer....but to each his own I guess.......again, it is just my opinion......I am grateful for all the animals on the Earth...some more than others...but they all serve their purpose or they wouldn't be here.....although I'm having a real hard time understanding why the midges are here...LOL.....I guess I just look at it a little differently than others do........

Dennis, you know me better than to let you ruffle my feathers. I was "side stepping" any ominous reviews or comments. I won't admit to how many made it through the 6 stranded hot wire and into my feed troughs where they did #2. Of the 23 I trapped (outside my pen) I shot 2. One just about drowned my dog in the creek and the other was sickly. 'you reckon I'm trapping the same '***** over and over? lol. btw, fox can climb a lot of trees.

yes they can...fox can climb alright......I am sure you are trapping the same old ***** Scrape......sometimes lead is the best scenario.....with the cost of feed now a days I am getting a litte tired of feeding *****, squirrels, skunks, possums, birds of every kind ....oh and then my deer do get what is left over....LOL....it does get hard to keep a level head sometimes......

it goes beyond the feed the '***** steal, it's the diseases they carry and the pooping in the troughs. I have never heard but it wouldn't surprise me if a mature '**** couldn't kill a fawn it could catch. Not all predator attacks fully kill their quarry, some are eaten while still alive. Now...that would be a horrible thing to watch.

Hey, Scott...if you read this, from your experience does the Raccoon roundworm, Baylisascaris Procyonis affect cervidae? I know people (especially young children) can be effected.

SharLaDuff - If you read my friend Scrape's question above...I'd appreciate your response as well.

Scrape - Is it grey fox in your area that climb the trees, or do you have another specie that does that, or do you even have grey fox?

They used to be prevalent here in the NW corner of Illinois...now they are gone...TOTALLY gone!

grey fox. I have to stay on guard. I've got a lot of trees in the pen (abt. 5 acres) and they will den there. After the fawns are big enough I don't worry so much. I have not seen bobcats in the pen since I installed the 6 strand elect. fence ( 4"-6"-8"-8" 10" 10") 2 years ago. I've stopped 90% of the ***** entering but the fox is a "fox"
