Saturday 7 am we found Typhoon dead in his pen. He had fractured is drop on end of left beam also light velvet damage and no signes of maggots. Typhoon had bloody foam around his mouth and bloody stool the size of a half dollar. He looked fine Friday we saw velvet damage on photos taken 10 days before death. We sent him to UW Madison for necrospy. Typhoon had 56 points and 418 inches with a little more to grow. Apple Creek sold only 12 straws last year. Because we only have a few remaining Typhoon straws our intention is to only offer Typhoon live deer and crosses for future sales.
I personally woud like to would like to thank Shannon and Mike Tiex for building Typhoon, Kevin Calmes daughter in picking Typhoon for the straw of Kodiak and the Apple Creek staff for health care over the years.
This is very a difficult loss for Apple Creek and upon learning of Typhoons passing I could only take comfort in knowing that he is only a deer and the most important goal in our life for is gaining eternity with our creator.
For the few who bred with Typhoon we will keep you posted of offspring growth.
