Saturday 7 am we found Typhoon dead in his pen. He had fractured is drop on end of left beam also light velvet damage and no signes of maggots. Typhoon had bloody foam around his mouth and bloody stool the size of a half dollar. He looked fine Friday we saw velvet damage on photos taken 10 days before death. We sent him to UW Madison for necrospy. Typhoon had 56 points and 418 inches with a little more to grow. Apple Creek sold only 12 straws last year. Because we only have a few remaining Typhoon straws our intention is to only offer Typhoon live deer and crosses for future sales.

I personally woud like to would like to thank Shannon and Mike Tiex for building Typhoon, Kevin Calmes daughter in picking Typhoon for the straw of Kodiak and the Apple Creek staff for health care over the years.

This is very a difficult loss for Apple Creek and upon learning of Typhoons passing I could only take comfort in knowing that he is only a deer and the most important goal in our life for is gaining eternity with our creator.

For the few who bred with Typhoon we will keep you posted of offspring growth.

Scott,

That is terrible news! I'm so sorry to hear about this. Typhoon was an amazing animal! One of the best looking deer I've ever seen. I can't believe this news. I was really hoping to be breeding him this year. I know this is tough news for you guys, but I'm sure his blood will live on for a long time in your pens and others.

Oh no, That is just terrible to hear. I am so sorry Scott, What an outstanding animal he was. Like you said above though, i guess the only comfort you can get right now is knowing he was just an animal, and that you were blessed just to have the opportunity to have him for 4 wonderful years. I will keep you in my prayers, even though he was an animal, it doesn't mean this won't sting for a while. God Bless.

This is just terrible. I also thought Typhoon had one of the best looks in the industry. The whole Apple Creek Crew can be proud they had such a great deer. I am sorry for your loss. I will miss seeing him.

Scott, that's always the way it goes. Its always the best ones! I'm sorry for you and all who had a hand in him. He will be missed gracing the deerfarmer forum's! Jason DCW

Sorry to hear about Typhoon. He had the frame and look and was certainly one of a kind.

Scott and the Applecreek Gang sorry to here about Typhoon. He was truly one of the nicest bucks in the industry, I am sure you guys will have another superstar soon. Paul

Scott, so sorry to read this news. It is always the special ones that go early. Very few bucks and there are countless thousands born every year, ever hit the 400'' mark. Truly a special deer you have raised. You and all of the Apple Creek crew should be very proud. Congrats to you all.

More than anything as your christian brother, I appreciate your putting your loss in prespective at this most difficult time. In the countless hours of hard work and time spent in pursuit of our passion we let our thoughts and lives become consumed by things that should be second place. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and our relationship with him is all that truly matters. Thank you Scott.

God bless,

Chad

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of Typhoon. But as you said and like I told Dan the day we lost Waylon. He is only a deer! Consider yourself lucky to have had such a great deer for the time you had him.

Keep your chin up and good luck. Give me call sometime if you need to talk!

We all share in your pain!

We're sorry to hear of the death of Typhoon . . . he was one awesome looking buck! As Chad said a few posts up, Scott . . . Thanks for helping us all keep the right perspective! May God continue to bless you and the Applecreek staff.

Typhoon was a great creation of one of Gods creatures. It is a shame these animals can only be with us a short time. I'm sure you and the Applecreek group will miss him. I'm Sorry for the pain this will cause you but I'm sure God will help you all and ease the loss. I liked his looks as did the industry. Take care Scott.
