I have been doing transcervical AI for the last 4years. I got a hands on lesson from Kelly and Hillary Powell. I am extremely thankful for all the information they have both shared with me. The majority of the deer I AI are being bred b/t 57-60 hours. I am wondering if anyone has bred past 60 hours transcervically, and if so how far out, and what were your success rates? When LAP AI is being done (correct me if I am wrong anyone, I am not a pro) the idea is the eggs have not left the uterine horn yet, this is why the semen is placed directly in the horn. Most LAP AI is done from at 55-58hrs. So if the eggs still have to travel from the horn down to the ******, why do most people AI transcervially at 58-60 hours? I know the semen stays alive for quite some time in the ******, could better rates be acheived doing AI at different times? Again I am not a professional, these are just my thoughts. Please chime in with your thoughts and opinions.
Sincerely,
Johnny B
