Drove by a pen and scared a doe from her birthing site last night. Watched her and saw she came back to her birthing site so thought all was well. This afternoon a fawn was crying so I checked it out. My rule is a crying fawn is a dying fawn. Took both Ice/Butkus buck fawns to the house. We tubed them and sucked any fluid in the tube. When we pulled it out and we looked for milk but there was only water. Tried a bottle with colostrum and sure enough the fawns sucked it down. I think we might have saved some real nice fawns with this move. Other than more bottle babies all is well.
