Antler max questions

I am thinking about using Antler Max. I used it about 8 years ago and worked well. I started buying a pelleted feed from MFA about 8 years ago because it was like 4 dollars a bag cheaper and the deer looked just as good on it as they did antler max except for they did lose a little weight during rut and fawning but nothing serious. Now that feed prices have gotten so high the price difference between the two is only about 1.50 a bag. I know that antler max overall is a better feed than what I was using. My question is I am looking at Antler Max Breeder Pro 20% , Antler Max Rut and Conditioning deer 16, and the new Antler max Breeder TXT 17-6. If anyone is using any of these mixtures would like to know how much a bag they are going for right know if you get a ton at a time. Also if anyone has used a variety of the Antler Max feeds which has worked best for you. Thank you

We use Antler Max and have used it for a long time. We use the Antler Max 20% pelleted feed. WE are currently trying the textured feed in a few pens. The deer really like it as well. We like the consistency of the feed and the fact that if there is a question we can call our local Purina rep and he will come out, take a look at the deer and the feed, make some recommendations etc. We like having the support system out there. We buy our feed by the ton.

We switched to Antler Max from another brand that he just threw stuff in and we had so much waste and he wouldn't tell us what was in it. Bill at Animal Nutrition Center in Oran, MO along with my husband studied and talked to everyone and we decided on it and our deer put on weight and their hair changed within 3 weeks as we did the switch over a slow rate. I have had not 1 bag of waste. Our feeders are licked clean. We also use Shock Effect for bucks and the conditioner for does. Great products!

Only downside is that is is made in Texas and has to be shipped to us. Hoping PURINA will start making it in the St. Louis area.

Purina's main research facility is right by St. Louis and their headquarters office is there. Which feed are you using that they aren't making there? I'd talk to your Purina rep about it.

Mr. Bug the place in Saint Clair,Mo where I am going to get it from is getting it made fairly close. You might call the Purina Rep like Wild Rivers said some of their feeds are made here in Missouri close and some rations are not you might just need to change to a different ration that's made in a plant here in Missouri. I was looking at the Breeder Pro 20% it has 20% protein, 4% fat, and 17% fiber. It is closer to a complete feed then some of their other rations. I should be able to mix a little shell corn with it in the fall and winter to lower the protein level and that will also lower the price per bag a bit. I was quoted $16.20 a bag is hat about right Wild Rivers. The only bad thing is you have to buy 3 ton at a time. I have downsized a little since feed is going to be ridiculous this year and next only have about 15 deer right now will take a while to use that much. Wild Rivers did you notice by chance did your deer eat less when you started feeding it. I thought since it is more protein and fat then what I am feeding now they might eat less of it making it a little more cost effective. Thank you everyone on your replys really appreciate it.

We use the Elite 300 and it is $16.50 bag and that is with shipping from Texas. It is a great feed. I wouldn't change a thing in it except that they make it here in MO. Animal Nutrition Center in Oran,MO

has to buy it in bulk as well, but our deer love it. We need to downsize as well. We have deer for sale. Call me.

Trust me we have checked it out and Purina won't make it here until more people use it.

There is an ad in the up coming Midwest Sale and our feed looks like the last one. But it is not that feed. There is a note at bottom that says all feed not available in all areas and that is why we pay to have it shipped up here as they don't make it in MO.

OK, our Purina rep says that Antlermax 17-6 textured is at available from both Montgomery City, MO and St. Joe, MO and the product number is 595C. Hopefully that will help on shipping costs.

We are using Antler Max 300. Not made here. I have not checked ingredients in the one in ad for the 17 but I know it is not Elite 300. They are not offering it anywhere but Texas. Ask for the Elite 300 and for it to be made in MO, if enough people do it will be made here. The price did go up, as I'm most sure most feed has but a lot of ours is shipping cost.

Antler Max 300!
