Well it happened, had a buck break his antler from his skull last week. It was just flopping around and driving him nuts, he liked to keep it up against the other antler. Well it came out yesterday so decided to put him out and take a look this morning. There was a whole about 2 1/2 inches in his skull a little infection but no maggets, lucky it has been cool here in OK the past few days. We put some wound care in the cavity covered it with SWAT, gave him antibotics, wormer sprayed him with permithin and hoped for the best. While we had him down cut the other antler off, had to sear the vessels that were still bleeding. Now all we can do is hope for the best.
