Antlers to heavy already!

Haha thanks Scott and Mike, if you guys were trying to flatter me enough to the point I'd post pictures, ya almost got me! The reason I don't post right away is because it's not how they start it's how they finish. I'm only giving pictures to the guys who own those genetics because they're so impatient, haha... kidding. Mike your buck will probably be the biggest Roosevelt yearling to date and that's something to look forward to cause my only 2yrold will put atleast 100" on last years rack. Scott you have a really nice Birchwood yearling, looks to be carrying his daddy's frame, who is lookin great as well.

Mike's right though, the main reason I don't post right away is because I want more people to come out to the farm and see our program. I use the old "If you grow them, they will come" strategy. I know I need to start advertising more, but I've been focusing so much on building, rather than selling. That will certainly change soon. Our bucks over the last few years have been really consistent and large framed without the aid of any "antler enhancement" products; that's what I refer to as all natural. I'm not saying anything against deer grown on these products, but if we start focusing more on heredity, passdown traits, and anchor does rather then points, score, big names and blood flow chances are there would be a lot more people posting pictures of big deer on here. I'll re-quote myself from an older post, "You can't turn the diner waitress into a princess." Just keep in mind that when you're hanging with the royal family soon or a later the Joker's gonna appear and he's always wild!

I have learned a little more about this product and i think it is something i am going to look into for our program. We had a couple fawn issues and i think some of their product might have helped. It sounds like they have something for fawns all the way up to adult animals. If the product is for total animal health it cant be a bad thing and if it helps the bucks meet their potential then that cant be bad either.

Dustin, I and im sure a few others would love to see you put some of those bucks of yours on here. They are some of the best i have seen on this site yet so i think your program is right where you worked so hard to reach.....Mabey just a sneak peak for now would not hurt and i can say if anyone is looking for great bred animals with backgrounds and anchor does that are the best in every deer he owns you might want to try birch creek. He has helped us grow in leaps and bounds and i bought a bred doe from him and now we might be on our way to a 200in yearling!!! Cant beat that!!!!

Mabey just a little pic of your yearling would work dustin!!!!!!

Great looking buck! What a nice problem to have.LOL. Good luck and it looks like your off to another great year.

On the Shock Effects deal. I think that this was a great discussion. Very respectful and educational. I have been using there products for well over a year now. I LOVE IT! Some of you know we don't have the big antlers here on our farm but we do have Fat healthy looking animals. Over all condition has been great. Post rut weights have never been better. What there products have done for us is take a good feed and made it better by allowing us to get all we can out of it. We used there dispersable this year for our bottle feed fawns. Hands down another great product! Fawns took to feed 2 weeks earlier this year than previous years. Pellets the hole way through even with weekly increases of milk replacer. It will be in my fawn kit again next year.

Thanks for the great read on this guys. Good luck this year with all your animals

Thanks for the kind words Mike. If you study our herd carefully you will see that we don't own a doe without a big time anchor female in it and that's how you get consistency. That yearling is still really pumping it up and hasn't shown all his cards yet. How about this weekend I get some new pics and show one of the big boys, fair enough? haha Ole Roosevelt and Birchwood better not be camera shy!

Looks good loyd. Looks like hydro-Ax is getting the job done. I have got a 2-year old out of Hydro-ax this year 26-28 inside I think could hit 300. He had 3-2year olds last year that was over 300 also 8 2-year olds that averaged over 270. All 2-year olds were not on my farm. I will post some pictures later in July.Good deal Loyd Mark Twin Lakes
