Hi all,
I have a wild deer on our property who was caught in the fence and really tore himself up. I've been caring for him for 3 weeks now (have previously accidentally rehabbed several fence-caught deer), but his back leg needs to be amputated for him to be able to walk again. I'm not a deer "farmer" and don't have access to the necessary sedatives (or experience!) and I could really use some help and have no idea where to turn. This guy can live out his life safely within our high fence area, but the leg below the hock is useless and won't allow him to really stand and function and I think it needs to come off ASAP. Is anyone in South/Central Texas who would be willing to help? I will, of course, pay for anything necessary in terms of time, supplies, gas, etc...
Thanks,
Erin
