aureomycin soluble power for fawns?

Has anyone used aureomycin soluble in their fawns yet? What rate have you used it? I am figuring it should be about a teaspoon per day but not 100% sure. I am caring for yet another fawn brought to me from another farm that has a cough and the eye slime issue. It is 4 weeks old and it is not on pellets yet so I cannot give the crumbles as I have in the past. He has been treated with Draxxin and Ivormec pour on over the last week. They said his cough is somewhat better but they cannot get him to shake it and they were really worried. He is eating great, good stools, and very active and alert. He just has an awful cough and his eye matts closed sometimes. I have already treated the eye with Terramycin ointment, but want to try to knock this out for them.

Back in the stone ages, we used amoxycillian powder in all of the fawns milk. The powder was re-constituted as per directions and we put 6 drops of the stuff in each bottle they got, until age 4 weeks. Aureomycin is very similar to the amoxy powder, so I would think it the dosage rate of 1 tsp/day would be comparable to 18-24 drops from the dropper during a day.

Thank you Scott, I really appreciate the information. Any other recommendations for treatment? I would have thought the Draxxin / Ivormec would have tackled it.
