Anyone have any experience with Bam? I was at a show a few weeks ago where a presentation was done on Bam. I must say I was impressed with it. Has anyone used it? If you did use it do you feel it is safer than Telazol? What about cost effectiveness? According to their dosage sheets it should be right around the same price per dose as Telazol and Xylazine.

Best thing to use without a dought. Only thing you cant collect with it. Cost might be a little more, but when the deer is out in under 5 minutes and on there feet in 5-10 with no side effects. Once you try it you wont use anything else, just my experience

I have heard from Dr. Shipley (UofI) that BAM has decreased in price significantly b/c one of the main constituent drugs has recently gone generic. He really likes using it. That's all the info I need...

Greatest drug ever for knocking deer down. We A.I. With it this year and got 70%. We had some deer down for a long time, and did not have to redose. I would say the greatest benefits were there resperation rate, temperature, and how they came out. We had does up at the feed with ten minutes of standing up.

Apple Creek has had great success with Bam with all uses other than collection of bucks, lap AI, and surgery. We did two test with lap AI and found does to twitch and move because of abdominal pain. More research needs to come from Bam mfg before I feel comfortable in expanding our use.

Awesome advice Scott........you always do hold your deer to the highest standards and it shows!! I want to be certain my deer are out completely when doing any kinds of surgical procedures on them........their to important to me.

BAM is an immobilizer, just like Telazol and Xylazine are- it is not to be used for surgical purposes, of course.

I've used Domitor, the M in BAM, for years to do surgeries on deer. Sometimes I add 1cc of Ketamine, and 1cc of Butorphanol to smooth it out. Works fine, probably 35 surgeries with it.

Going to do a surgery on a buck tomorrow with it...
